Halo 3. Great, but....
drchewbacca | 1:03 AM on 09.25.2007 5 comments

I just recently got back from my local Gamestop's Halo 3 midnight launch. Good experience overall but one word of caution to the limited edition adopters...the tin is great, I love the artbook and tin case but the thing is...the disc doesn't have a case of its own. It is held into place by some plastic and nothing else. So when I eagerly opened my case my only discovery was a playable yet slightly scratched disc of the Halos 3. Now, I'm not the type to bitch (the game works fine) but still, when I buy a new game I expect it to be sans scratches. What do you guys think?

Heavenly Sword. Yawwwwn.

Okay. It took me approximately 6 hours to download the 900 something megabyte demo of Heavenly Sword, one of the "selling points" of the Lexus of video game consoles known as the Playstation 3. Let's do some math, shall we? 6 hours to download + 10 minutes of gameplay < 2 minutes of God of War I or II. I'm begging anyone, please...make my PS3 purchase worthwhile.

Carcassonne is the new Uno. My first post.
drchewbacca | 10:21 PM on 07.22.2007 2 comments

I like to do multiple things at once. Take right now for instance. Not only am I writing this, but I'm also paying bills and making a lovely chinese chicken salad. So when I watch TV, I usually like to play something relatively mindless like Uno at the same time. It's pretty slow paced and doesn't require constant attention. However, between the random cock shots via the Xbox Live Vision Camera and constantly being booted from rooms for which I can only guess is not having a camera myself, I became interested in finding a new diversion.
Then I played the demo for Carcassonne. The game is kind of like Scrabble with map pieces. You randomly are given the pieces to lay out on the map with the goal being to make complete towns and roads. It gets a bit more complicated than that, but that's what tutorials are for and I'm lazy. Anyway, point being is Carcassonne is a great game to play in the background while you're watching TV...or pretending to listen to your mother talk on the phone. My only gripe with the game is that not enough people are playing it on Xbox Live.
