I think the title of this post is self-explanatory...
I fit the profile of a modern day gamer fairly well; grew up in the '80s, like all of that "retro" crap and had my first major gaming experience with the NES back in '86. I could get all sentimental and go into a detailed account of exactly how that went down, but I'll save that for my memoirs. Fast forward about 20 or so years, add a wife, a kid on the way and a military career and I'm still gaming to this day. Of course, it's not nearly as much as it was when I was a kid, but I still get in as much as I can and try to catch all of the major game releases.
I Currently own all major consoles and handhelds from the
sixth and
seventh generations of gaming. I'm ashamed to admit that yes, I owned not one but two N-Gages; an original and a QD. I swear that it was because they we decently priced smart phones and not because of their touted gaming features. I'll also admit that I sat outside of a Wal*Mart for about 12 hours waiting to buy a Wii. Was it worth it? Hell, I think so and if I would have known that they were going to be in such short supply, I would have bought two of them.
I look forward to posting actual articles about games and the industry. Til then, Godspeed.
Currently Playing: Ninja Gaiden Black, God of War 2, Resistance, MotorStorm, Crushed, Riddick: EFBB, Animal Crossing: Wild World and a couple of others that I can't seem to recall...
