First of all, let me say this: I am not new to Destructoid. I have been following the site for well over a year now, so I know what Dtoid is all about. I have commented on a few stories and made a couple forum posts but that's about it. However, this is going to change.
I first learned about Destructoid through the excellent podcast RetroforceGO!, which my cousin introduced me to. Since then I have been browsing the site daily.
I usually am kind of a lurker on every site and forum I visit. However, Destructoid has such an awesome community that I just can't stay silent anymore. From here on out, I'm going to be writing blogs, commenting on articles and making forum posts more actively.
Oh, and i'm from Finland:
Here's a brief history of me as a gamer:
When I was 4 years old, I borrowed an NES from my cousins, who I think got bored of it, since they didn't want it back before I moved to Norway at the age of 7. My best memories with the NES come from playing Talespin, Tetris, & Super Mario Bros. 1 & 3 with my friend. I also got a Gameboy color when I was 7 and played the hell out of Pokemon Silver.
When I was living in Norway, I got a Playstation 1(as a christmas present, I think?). My parents bought it from one of our friends, so it just happened to be modded :D. It also came with a load of games including Crash Bandicoot & Rayman just to name a few.
Some time after we moved back to Finland I got myself a PS2 & a Gameboy Advance, and a couple years ago I bought a DS & WII. My gaming PC I bought last year and my PSP and N64 I got this year.
So that sums me up pretty well I think. But now, let's get to the thing you all came here to see: My new present:
This amazing Gyakuten Kenji tin can is a present from my cousin who is on student exchange in Japan. She sent a package to her brother, and much to my surprise, the package also contained a present for me (I think it's meant to be a birthday present, but i'll have to ask her to be sure). You will be able to read about what other awesome things were in the box when my cousin talks about it in his intro post, which he will be doing this week. Here's the box from it's other sides:
Kay Faraday <3
Shi-Long Lang
And last but not least, everyones favorite detective Dick Gumshoe
On the top there's a picture of Blue Badger
Also included was a bag of candy & and this cloth, again with a picture of the Blue Badger.
So there's my intro post. Feel free to comment on it and fap over it. You can also follow me on Twitter if you feel like it. You will propably see me blogging about games i've been playing & things i've been buying. I'm already working on two blogs: the first is my gaming setup and the second involves a certain PS2 game that deserves more attention than it gets (hint: it has robots in it. Robots are awesome).
Damn, I guess I better get on that intro post then.
Nice intro.
What we lack in numbers we make up for in skill and spirit. Back in the day, we had a saying that "1 Finn equals 10 Soviets". Take for example Simo Häyhä, who is often considered to have been the best sniper of all time. According to some sources, he single-handedly took out somewhere between 200 and 524 Soviets. And his gun wasn't even equipped with a scope or a suppressor! The Soviets called him "The White Death".

Also, Simo Hayha.
