Neversoft made Guitar Hero III because they wanted to get in with the cool kids who swear by the game because of the difficult songs. I could easily play most of the songs on GH III as I did in the previous games in the Guitar Hero franchise. I do agree though that in future GH games, I see nothing but songs made difficult to please the kids who think they are pseudo Guitar gods. I prefer Rock Band because of the ease on most of the songs and not the hectic pace they go into on later tiers as in GH III.

I've been thinking of getting Rock Band.

Is the game more noob friendly? I've only just started playing Guitar Hero the other day.

Half the reason I decided to comment on this blog is because of the Simpsons reference in the title. Sucks to be you; I got Bonestorm!

But anyway...

...and at other points the positioning of notes seems ridiculous and makes no sense beyond trying to cripple both my hand and my performance.

My thoughts exactly; that�s what turned me off to Guitar Hero III. For more, see the two forum posts I made here.
