- The Designers Republic have not been involved with WipEout since WipEout 3 - the graphic design is now done in-house at Studio Liverpool.
- WipEout HD is the PLAYSTATION Network downloadable title due later this year, while the full blown PS3 WipEout title is not due out for some time yet.

In response to the subject matter of the video itself, I enjoyed your analysis of Wipeout... it definitely fits the framework you build in the movie. However, one part just does not sit well with me, and it's the way that you paint modernism vs. a new kind of anti-corporate dialogue. Those are not mutually exclusive things in my view: anti-establishmentism came as a response to modernism, but it's both firmly rooted in post-modern beliefs (that no one person or corporation has a right to telling the world's story themselves) AND modernism itself (that some day we will get over our barbarism to a better society). Anti-establishmentism itself seeks out to paint a single view of the world: that corporations are evil, that people are oppressed, etc. The "futurism" (as you say) that we saw in the 80's and 90's also existed in the early 1900's as an art movement, but of a different philosophical kind: futurism was an art form that rebelled against the institutions (both artistic and political) of the past. Futurism *was* a form of modernism, even though the people who practiced it didn't know that yet.
And that's where I'm left with your video. I firmly believe that if we re-assume that old futurist philosophy (that 'bad', 'old' ideas need to be rebelled against), we'll be stuck in the same old modernism again. That is why I'm so hesitant to give the boot to mainstream, big-budget, games - they are a physical manifestation of the kind of culture we are (or were), and destroying a social practice alienates us from our very own culture. We are modernists, whether we like it or not, I think.
Anyway, that's too much babble - definitely keep up the videos, I'm enjoying them.
