Cooking Guide: Can't Decide What to Eat?

Wow, so I was looking around and I stumbled across this DS "game". It's called "Cooking Guide: Can't decide what to eat?"

There's a TON of voice samples, which reads out every step in a recipe and whatnot, and you can even adjust the speed of the voice. Wook at the widdle chef man. Adowabowl! :P

What's really cool is that it has like, recipes from aaalll around the world! Just randomly, I saw almond tofu, which is awesome and delicious! Haven't had that in so long. I'm just a little confused by the ingredient "agar-agar". I didn't know that was the grocery store term for agar. 0_o

I also thought the colorful pictures and aesthetics of the entire thing was very appealing. So cool how it displays cooking time, calorie count, and any other notes you want to make yourself! Recipe searching is cool, too. Write your ingredients, or find them in a list alphabetically, by country, by difficulty, calorie count, etc. etc., all these search functions are present!

Oh right, and the sounds/pictures are nice, too. Each step comes with a little colorful photo and an accompanying sound effect (like sizzling, dripping, grating, etc.) which adds a nice little touch. Well, at least I thought it was cute.

What's especially neat is that it's also voice-activated during the cooking process. You can push the touch screen for the "game" to dictate the next step, or you could just say "continue", "repeat", or "go back". You just have to kinda speak like a robot and enunciate, though. And if it picks up the sound of you doing something loud like chopping, it might think that you were saying something so the little chef guy goes "What did you say?" and so on. ^^;;

There's even a calendar so it can track what stuff you've tried and when. I can clearly see the appeal for this for non-gamers, and I'd have to say that it's quite an impressive piece of work. It's not out in the US yet (I got the European version), but apparently it's gonna cost around $60 or so. That's quite a bit for a game, but then again, it's not a game. It's more like a handheld, voice-activated, dictating, electronic cook book. Very cute indeed!

images borrowed from www.nintendic.com, hope y'all don't mind and sue me and shit.

Is this post awesome? Vote it up!

This game is out in out only in European territories, I believe. I remember when I was totally not looking for DS games for my R4 that I don't have, I stumbled upon this game. I did some matlockery and saw the website. It does sound pretty spiffy, but it's more of a personal tool for "foodies" than anything.
