Prince of... Persia??
denjunki | 5:49 PM on 11.02.2009 3 comments

I am really tired of Hollywood putting white actors in brownface to portray brown people. You'd think there'd be no shortage of actual Persian actors who could portray the Prince. I guess they used that dagger to send us back to the 1950s.

Yes, I understand that a video game movie requires a name star to draw people to the box office, especially one as expensive as Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, but seriously.

Also, they cast Farah badly.

First of all, not even the game version of the prince looks Persian so I don't know why you would expect him to look like that in a movie. I think Jake looks very much like the prince from Warrior Within or The Two Thrones, I don't see anything wrong with him.

Also, there's no Farah in the movie, it's a new character. In case you didn't know, the movie is only vaguely based on the games. It's not supposed to have the same story or the same characters.

I don't expect it. That doesn't mean I have to like it.

Also, if the movie isn't being faithful to the game, then does it matter what the in-game prince looks like?
