Devil May Cry 4 Demo
demonelite | 3:07 PM on 02.03.2008 15 comments

I have just played the Devil May Cry 4 demo on the 360 and all I can say right now is "what is all the fuss about". I must point out that I have never played any game in the Devil May Cry series before (maybe this is why I didn't like it) anyway, one of the things that annoyed me the most was the camera. A fixed camera is so PSX generation, I know you can move the camera with the thumbstick but when you go from one camera angle to another and find yourself walking in the wrong for the 10th time in a row it gets a little frustrating, also the gun, you have a six shooter pistol that never needs reloading, please a little realism here?

Anyway, did you all like the demo and are you going to get this game when it comes out?

Never played a Devil May Cry game either, and to be honest I won't be playing this one. I to found the gun a bit odd, as well as the lack of gore in the game. The demons looked like a chickens. The Inferno boss demon was the only cool one, but in terms of characters used in this demo they failed. Looks pretty though.

You owe it to yourself to take a trip to the video store, and rent the other games. They are quite fun, and after spending some time with a finished version of each, you might change your mind about the DMC series. Trust me on this one.

The DMC games aren't really known for their gore. They're more famous for just the over-the-top attitude of the action and characters. It's not like Silent Hill gory.

I'm pretty sure there hasn't been much gore in any of the games actually.

I might pick them up when I (hopefully) get a PS3.

Did you just ask for realism in a game that has you fighting large demons that use magical powers? This franchise is all about over the top action. Watch this video for some for insight,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZYyxK7JQoI

Never played a DMC game before, but I just might play the rest of them after playing the demo. That shit was legit.

MMM DMC3, sweet game. I still have the wall scroll of it they gave out for pre-ordering the game. Where's my free stuff now >_< I really look forward to DMC4 for the action and the challenge I guess you gotta be a fan of the series to keep going with it. Pick up the Devil May Cry Greatest Hits Set, it's only like $20 I think oh and skip #2 you aren't missing anything special.

You complain because of the gun? Ever seen a sword with a throttle? You don't need realism in Devil May Cry.

He's right the guns are unrealistic. At least the rest of the game (with all the vampires, high flying, demon brining, giant-god fighting, and so forth) kept its realism intact. Hopefully in the 5th sequel Dante will finally reload, run out of bullets, and pick them up from the enemies that drop them-- cause that's so much more fun.

God I love sarcasm.
