I spent a lot of my time playing SF:IV this year(I just hit 850 hours on play time)....yeah. But I hit a wall with that game, I recently hit G1 in Championship mode, and it's retarded. People are either A)trying to spam over and over(usually spam with little to no recovery >.<) or B)Very good but would rather ragequit then lose to such a "low level n00b" that I apparently am. Besides that I would say 1 out of 5 times a player comes by that is really good and gives me great competition, but overall it's become a very toxic environment(at least on the 360)and I think I'll spend the rest of my time online playing with friends from now on.
And so MvC 2 dropped a couple days ago with such great timing for me. Being the first time I've played this, it's given me a new (broken)system to learn. Which I need to learn fast since Char Aznable, Rabite, and Tactix are showing clear dominance over me!(BTW RAB & smurfee mcgee RAGEQUIT!!!)
And it just so happens my dream team is available to play MvC 2. IT'S MAHVEL BABYEEE!!!
de BLOO's Best Team Ever
1st Pick: Cyclops
Ah yes, Former leader of the X-men and all around bad ass, Cyclops is my first pick for "Best Team Ever". I chose him becuase he is one of the first characters I learned in MvC 2 and so far his play style and speed are in perfect sync with my game. He has many tools to generate combos, combos that some can end with super! If I'm playing to win in a match, he's my first pick for the fight.
3rd Pick: Venom
Venom! Spidey's greatest Rival and now..."protector of the innocent"( >_> Marvel fucked his story up IMO). I chose him out of love. Venom is and always will be my favorite Marvel Character, even if Marvel decided to be dickheads and turn him to a good guy in the comics(well ok, his a more of a warped vigilante who kills people that commit crimes, but his intentions are "good", at least he was last time I checked). His attack "Venom Fang" is great for punishing people's mistakes, and his supers dish out a lot of damage to the poor victims caught in his web.
....
.........
.................
"Oh snap, where's the 2nd pick bloo?"
Well......

That's right! My second pick is still up in the air between one of my favorite fighters Ken, and powerhouse Gouki(Akuma)!
Here's my dilema:
Ken
He's been my main since the first time I put a quarter in Street Fighter Alpha 3 back when I was 7. He is fast and can put a lot of hurt if you let him. Also, another gameplay related advantage:
He has one of the most damaging supers in the game, Shippuujinrai Kyaku(Flaming Kicks).

(mash the kick buttons for more damage)
When ken and another character do a Advancing Ground super, (example: Juggernaut's HeadCrush), whether Ken starts his Shippuujinrai Kyaku first or second, he always wins. The Invincibilty on start up has so many frames making this super very good for both countering supers and surprising opponents. Seems like an easy choice, no?
But then there's....
Gouki
In case you don't know, Gouki has become my main(replacing Ken D:) in SF:IV. In MvC 2 he's very accessible to me. I think he has more supers than anyone with 4, and dishes out MAJOR damage with even a simple hurricane kick. He's more of an offensive type fighter rather than a defense, its almost like every time I use him he's finished after just a few moves. Any Akuma enthusiasts should give him a go. He translates well into this game(if you've learned him in SF:IV) having very low health, but having one of the highest damage outputs players can get. Another game related advantage:
His Tenma Gou Zankuu(Hyper Air Fireballs)

(in air; mash punch buttons for more damage)
This is his best tool(IMO). It can end just about every air combo akuma has. You can also combo this after you land a hurricane kick on the ground...it's just very, very nasty. He also has a ground projectile super, two anti-air, and his classic
Shun Goku Satsu(Instant Hell Murder/ Raging Demon). But the Raging Demon eats 3 bars to execute a slow, only 1/4 screen moving, and pretty impossible to land grab that eats about 55% percent of health. It's just not worth it unless you want to finish off your opponent in a flashy way, which I've yet to seen playing with many Dtoiders(t0pc0w might change that ;D)
I'm leaning towards Ken at the moment, but Akuma always spikes my interest everytime I play with him...It's gonna be a while before I can make up mind.
Well there you have it. Cyclops, chosen for his play in the game. Venom, chosen out love. And Ken/Akuma, chosen out of passed experiences. I say a little bit of everything went into chosing this team. :D
[NOTE: Pics of Joystick movement provided by Fellow Dtoider and shining beacon of excellence, Zero Atma! I've also taken the liberty to host those images here, enjoy Dtoid.]
Never did like Ken or Akuma though, unless people can use them properly. Most of the players of these two just sit at the back throwing fireballs and not even zoning.
Venom, yes! yes! yes! all over! :]
My least favorite thing about Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is that despite the fact that you love everyone except Cyclops, they'd get wrecked by about 15 or so other top tiers.
IMO Ken wrecks Akuma for the simple reason of Shinryuken's insane super form, and it's insane air priority/AA.
Grats on Cyclops though; he's also one of my three.
Will fix soon!
Also you think that what MARVEL did to Vemon was bad. DC killed Batman! YOU CAN'T KILL FUCKING BATMAN!
"you're lying"
also, this is all you see when you fight deBloos venom
Only thing more powerful is 3 servbots.
This is all you see with RAB's Guile.
<3
As much as I like Cyclops in this game, you have to admit he's a pussy of a character. Goody Two Shoes.
Holy fuck, 850 hours on SFIV?! I say again: holy fuck! Don't worry, at least feel confident that you can whip my ass at any point in that game.
He sucked in the movies, too.
You best believe I'm taking your ass for a ride tonight.
FACT: Cyclops only sucked in the movies.
Otherwise, he's AMAZINGLY badass. Capcom fighting games, Ultimate Alliance, off-shoot ubisoft fighting games, comics, TV series: you name it, he's awesome!
Cyclops is a weenie.
Like FalconReaper, whenever I think of Venom I think of those threats to eat people's spleens.
