New kick-ass PC!!!

Hey, I only signed in to the place to get a PC! I wonder how many others did the same...

I've been thinking lately how the gaming industry has turned average people into greedy nerds... I mean, i already got a PC. Not an amazing one, but one that hasn't let me down thus far. It's a Pentium IV 3.0 GHz, 2GB RAM, 200 GB HDD, NVidia GeForce 6600 256 MB, 5.1 Sound Blaster. So you can see, it is pretty decent. I mean, it can still run Bioshock without any lag (not in the higher resolutions, obviously). The thing is, there are plenty of good games I can play with my old machine, but I want a fucking robot of a PC just for the sake of playing one game...

Will Crysis be any good? Will it be as disappointing as Assassin's Creed? Will I even win the damned computer that's gonna let me play it???

Stay tuned for updates!

Don't get your hopes up, your chances of winning are very slim. Your computer's specs should be capable of playing Crysis low-medium, I should think? Unfortunately though, Crysis isn't life changing by any means, go play FarCry. Same game, just better graphics, crazy physics, suit powers and sans annoying mutants!

It's even free!

Have you played the game? I wanna play it, but the way it's meant to be played... lol, isn't it Nvidia motto?

AngelicLiver: I believe that only worked on Labor Day weekend, I tried downloading it a couple weeks later and the install failed.

david morgar: Really, looks like all you need is a better graphics card. Maybe save your pennies for an 8800GT or a 3850-3870 and you'll be good to go. That's between $200-250, so not a bank-breaker. Just make sure you have a PCI-express slot.

meh, even if you don't win the rig you can build a crysis worthy machine for under 1000...
its not too hard, shoot me a message if you want advice.

As most reviews of Crysis I've read say its made for a pc that hasn't been made yet. The very best dual core system they put together, over 5 grand, still had some very small framerate issues at the highest graphical settings. But that's probably nitpicking a lot more than a average person can notice.

My pc is about the same specs as yours, little better graphics card on mine, and I was able to play the crysis demo at medium to low settings. Took some tweaking but it ran and looked ok. I tried turning everything up, ugh, but damn did it look good for the 1 frame per second I was getting.

That's my machine, but with a single core processor, crappier video card, and a bigger hard drive. I'll be gettin Crysis for it soon, but it wasn't that great for the demo. I only got good framerates on medium settings, which disappoints me.
