Has anyone ever noticed something odd during Nintendo console years? That there is only one Super Mario game on each Nintendo console ever made, except for NES. I know Super Mario is the must have game for each console released. In the beginning when Nintendo released (NES) during the 80's In North America. More Mario games where coming out for NES 1, 2, and 3. Now we got the real Super Mario: Lost Levels for Nintendo Wii, which makes a full, circle back. I know the American version of super Mario bros 2 is not a really a good sequel just a different game known as Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic. My point is why not make another Mario game right after Super Mario Galaxy instead wait for the Super Wii in 2011. Of course each Mario game is unique in ways from 2-D to full 3-D graphics. I don't want to relate this to Mario sports games, Mario party, Mario RPG's, super smash bros, puzzles, remakes, yoshi, and Mario kart. It seemed more fun back than releasing a new super Mario bros game. Here is another thing to point out. Has anyone ever noticed that the title in Super Mario doesn't use the word "Bros." anymore when releasing a new mario game? I do like playing Luigi even when the first Mario game came out. Now Luigi is a playable character in Mario Galaxy. i never played the standalone version of Luigi Mansion because I didn't own a gamecube instead a fantastic PS2. I just want them to team up together and have a great adventure. I know Shigeru Miyamoto has been busy making a lot of games, which I thank him for that. I could see a sequel to Super Mario Bros. 3 game in so many ways. I would really want to play "New Super Mario Bros" as wii ware title on my wii. They just need to tweak it just a little and something extra in it.

@darkair
The American version of Super Mario Bros 2 is one of the greatest games on the NES whether or not it's a true sequel is irrelevant in rating how good the game was. This was one of NOA best decisions.
@ Sinow Wolf
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Shigeru Miyamoto was only a producer which is okay, but would preferred as the director. I have heard people say its more of yoshi game than to a mario game. Shigeru Miyamoto has to be involved even in design, but he is working hard on other stuff. okay thank you for mentioning that.
@ DaedHead8
I do mention the DS because if feels more of good backwards step to the mario games. For keeping the 2-D genre a live.
