About dTunes:
dTunes originally started as a blog in which I would showcase a new band every week. Soon, I moved on to themes. Every video was meant to be suggested by the community, the themes too. Unfortunately, my own personal tastes kept getting in the way. This time I intend to pick a community member from the Google Group that I made (send me your email if you want in) and let them post their favorite music for a week. By getting rid of the middle man (me) I intend on bringing to life my initial image of dTunes, a place where the community can enrich itself and create a better understanding on the individual members of the community by exploring their personal tastes.
Well guys, it's day 5 and my last post for dTunes. Today, I thought I would end it on a gaming themed note. I wanted to do it on easy songs that made me feel sad or a sense of relief, I guess. Of course, there are so many songs out there that I could mention but I can only recall so much :P
So, bring your tears and tissues because I'm going through my 3rd box!
dTunes get!
Lost Odyssey
This played during the very first Thousand Years of Dreams sequence. These sequences are pretty much memories that the main character recalls from his past, this one being called Hannah's Departure. The recollection, along with this track, really create a powerful beginning for me. After seeing this, I grabbed a strategy guide from gamefaqs and made sure I didn't miss any of these fantastic stories. This in particular really choked me up ;_;
Suikoden
This song first appears when a certain event happens in Suikoden. I know the game is very old but I'm not really big into spoiling experiences for people. All I can say is, it was a pretty emotional moment.
Secret of Mana
I remember thinking how mad I was for being banished from my own village. I had not been there for long but I do remember feeling a sense of betrayal.
Mega Man 2
This song comes on after beating Dr. Wily. I remember it being one of the saddest songs I had ever heard at the tender age 8. I almost cried when I assumed Megaman died because he disappears and all that's left is his helmet ;_;
Shadow of the Colossus
I love the soundtrack to SOTC but this one in particular is one of the softest and mystifying pieces from the whole OST.
Xenogears
I don't particularly remember where and when this happens but the song itself is one the most memorable from my experiences with the game.
Kingdom Hearts 2
It's just a great piece of music. I would leave this song playing in the background while I would draw or do my homework. Good times.
Metal Gear Solid
This song is what actually got me into the whole MGS series. I didn't know too much about the PS1 version but when I saw the trailer and heard this song, it made me want to know what else the soundtrack had that could be comparable. The game was pretty good too :P
Parasite Eve
This song comes on at the end of Parasite Eve 1. It's such a beautiful song.
Final Fantasy X
This is a strange song because it was the song that plays in the Ruins area and it was also the battle theme. I never got tired of listening to this beautiful track.
Katamari Damacy
Another great song that I would just leave on in the background.
Final Fantasy XI
This song was quite important to me in my 2 years of playing FFXI only because no matter where I was, I would make it a habit to stop by the Rolenberry Fields to listen to the song lol. I mean, I would journey from anywhere in the world to go and just listen to it! I later found this much easier to do just downloading the song :P
Super Mario 64
It was just a great song to listen to and it fit the environment so well.
Persona 4
Each time this song came on, it gave me a sense of relief. Whatever problem was solved or when I would share an intimate moment with a character in Inaba, this track would always make me feel like what I was doing is important. I'm not really sure how to explain it lol but, it's such a good song!
ICO
This is the song that plays when your going to save. I remember when I first saved my game, I literally went "Oh, What a nice song....zzzzzz" It was kind of late lol
I kind of wanted to leave the ICO song for last because it's such a simplistic and beautiful song. It's also a great song to conclude this weeks Senisan82 edition! Well, I hope you enjoyed this softy soft edition of dTunes, tune in next ti...oh wait, I mean, I'll see you around! and remember to...
