I will admit, I am new to Destructoid. I am an avid fan of ATLUS games since my good old PSX days. I am an ATLUS faithful and was e-mailed about the Etrian Odyssey contest so I immediately signed up to do this.

I have to say my most memorable moment for Etrian Odyssey was when I went through one of the first floors. My team was weary due to constant battles but I told them to grow a pair and keep pushing forward. I finally reached a grove that told me I could get lumber there. I was like "Sweet! More items = more stuff to sell = more money = better equipment!" So I promptly had my team haul @$$ back to town and I looked for one of my members to have the chop tree skill. To my dismay there wasn't a single one (thats what I get for having a team of alchemists and healers) So I find that the Landskecht can use an axe. I promptly created one, bought the strongest axe I could find and set out for the woods. Reaching it I took another look into the Landskecht's skills and did not find a chop tree skill. So I thought... maybe I need him to level up a bit. So I spent a couple days (game time) training him but the skill never appeared. Stubborn as I was I walked back to the tree area. My roommates complained to me that I woke them up for yelling random things that night. Truthfully I yelled things like: "What the heck do you mean you can't chop a tree?!? You have the best darn axe in the stupid shop right now! Just swing at the tree?" I decided that my character was just plain stupid and decided to have him train some more. After he still refused to swing his axe at anything that wasn't moving, I returned to town and plotted my revenge. I ventured into the dungeon with only him and a protector. I had my protector defend herself on the rear line as i let my landskecht take the hits. After he died I removed his equipments and promptly fired him. "Serves you right... don't know how to swing and axe at a freakin tree..."
