Okay. Now while I am one of the people who are trying to open peoples eyes to what RE5 really is (an all too similar copy/paste of 4)... comparing RE5 to L4D really just isnt fair. Apples and oranges.
Wow, deja vu, it's several weeks ago when the japanese re5 demo came out all over again.
I know - but you should get that feeling of destinct pleasure when you shoot a zombie/red-eyed african, like you get in L4D or any other randomly made zombie shooter. In RE5 - you do not.
Wait.. you have never been a RE fan.. and then you were disappointed with the demo of a RE game.
Hmm
Primo: Awful, isn't it? To be able to have a disappointing opinion of a game series that I previously didn't like... alien, truly...
Sucks to hear you didn't enjoy it.
I love it.
The Thing 2.0
No, it's not alien at all. I was just surprised that you seemed surprised that the game wasn't that surprising to you. A hee hee hee
Primo: Foul trickery!
I'm drinking a hot cup of of you right now...
Well the fans like it, its not L4D, and just because a game has zombies it means that its the same game. L4D has different mechanics from RE5 and as you've said yourself, there's "different kinds of panic".
Then you go on to discredit the game from insignificant things like "zombies bubble away" and "splashing blood"which has nothing to do with your first argument.
Redzie: You conclusion would only be true if your deduction was correct. However, I think I was pretty clear of what piece of L4D I wanted to compare with - the distinct pleasure of killing a zombie. Which both games are about - correct? I feel that the former does it well, while the latter does it not.
I did not take up the "run and gun" mechanic of L4D, I did not distinctly point out that RE5's system of standing still while shooting was flawed and needed more gunning and running.
You could at least ask me to clarify or rephrase my text before coming to conclusions regarding my argument. :)
What is it about people who dislike RE4 and 5? Why do you people refuse to believe anyone could possibly like these games?
I disagree with you, but I respect your right to an opinion and understand that different people like different things. Re4 and 5 haters don't seem to understand this concept.
I love killing "zombies" in both RE4 and the demo of 5 (they're not zombies in those games, for the record). I never get tired of it. Left 4 Dead provides all the satisfaction also, but both games do it differently.
lol. Yes lets go with "let me rephrase" line. As I've said, Just because the games both have zombies in them doesnt mean they're the same game. The feeling you have after shooting the zombies will be very different because of the game's pace and with the controls.
Zombies in RE5 dont jump at you and swarm you while hacking away at your health--- that creates a feeling of panic and satisfaction when you take them out. RE5 is vastly different and for you to compare the two just because "Its shooting zombies" is unfair. Yes, you did feel disappointed but please do not draw an argument from comparing two games with very different styles.
Can't we all just get along?
"Wait.. you have never been a RE fan.. and then you were disappointed with the demo of a RE game.
Hmm"
This is where this rant is null and void.
@EDS
Yeah, lets all go play some L4D and continue to bitch how its so much better than RE5.
JK
It's okay EDS, I love it too.
It's only inaccurate if you're bad.
Redzie: "The feeling you have after shooting the zombies will be very different because of the game's pace and with the controls." Thank you for reiterating my point. Now what point are you trying to make? I think I have underlined out that I do not draw comparisons between matters of gameplay and game mechanics between the games. What I did though, was to illustrate the feeling of pleasure I want to feel when I blast a undead (or whatever those were) in the face. I can mention any other game - survival game or not, that I get the same distinct pleasure from. I can say that if feelt like shooting a cardboard box - but that is maybe just a bit padding.
And that's why I think it's poorly executed. I have read through my blog a few times I can't see how you can milk it to be a bitch fest of how much better L4D is compared to RE5. As much you might say that the gameplay in it self is something I dislike, I still feel the controls suck, the inventory is bleh and the overall feeling of staleness runs right through it. And come on - when I slash one those zombies with a big fucking knife I expect, and I think even you do expect something more then a flash of blood and no reaction.
Note though, I do bitch - all the time, but I think I am accurate about my bitching, I want counter bitching to be accurate as well.
I FUCKING LOVE RESIDENT EVIL 5.
Especially....the CONTROL SCHEME.
Oh god that feels good.
Cocoa is fucking delicious
I stopped reading after the first sentence.
*second
Go play something you're good at...
Like Nintendogs or Animal Crossing.
And, please, stop your bitching.
This isn't a blog, it's a damn clog!
