Wii USB HDD soon?

With the launch of Wii Ware, I like many other Wii owners realized. "Wow, I don't have a lot of fucking space left on my Wii" Between Ocarina of Time, Super Mario World, Link to the Past, Harvest Moon, My Life as a King, Dr. Mario Online, photo, news, weather, nintendo, vote, mario kart, and wii fit channels, I'm running low on the blocks. 512mb isn't shit, and I guarantee Nintendo wasn't even thinking of doing a service like XBLA and PSN downloadable games when they decided to give the Wii only 512mb of space. This could quite possibly show, despite their innovation, lack of Nintendo's "getting with the times" mentality. I mean we have lack of HD, lack of proper online (with few exceptions) and lack of the foresight to see that there would be storage issues. Though, I digress about the lack of HD and online.

But, according to Nintendo there is no storage issue! Okay, I'm sorry, but excuse me if I'm annoyed by the fact that every time I want to play a Wii Ware game I downloaded, I have to copy another one to an SD card, delete it, then copy the one I want to play from an SD card to my Wii. Hey... Nintendo... THAT IS FUCKING ANNOYING! Whats another solution? Oh I could just delete it and download it again? No, that still doesn't fucking work. I'm sorry but I have to call the bullshit when I see it, they are just dicking around as of right now, because they realized they fucked themselves with their shitty storage and not allowing Wii owners to save and play things off of a SD card. They shot their selves in the foot and are currently fucked.

WOOO! Swear filled rant over, now for the real stuff.

Recent job listings at Nintendo found by this site show that Nintendo needs USB hardware testers. Now what does that mean? God only knows. What should it mean? That we get a storage device ASAP.

And you know, this could not only benefit us, the gamers, but it could benefit Nintendo as well. Aside from making money off of something we shouldn't have to be paying for, with a new storage device it could open up developers to create Wii DLC, you know for games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Mmm, money, doesn't that sound good?

And on another side note... am I the only one that is annoyed by the fact that the width of the pictures we upload now doesn't match the width of the text? or is just this me? Either way, I think I'm developing minor OCD on it.

if they make an hdd then how would they loss money on mem cards and you know how nintendo is about people complaining, they just don't care and only do things for themselves, why no chat features? are they are stuck in 1997 mourning tupac and biggie? who knows.

Actually Nintendo did say they were gonna solve the storage problems that avid gamers were having, in their Investor FAQ.

Also, from what I hear the gimped online was/is to avoid scaring off the new gamers because of online jerks and predators.

But you're right about the lack of Harddrive they just didn't plan on having anything other than NES and SNES games downloaded on their system. In other words WiiWare wasn't even a thought when they designed their system.

If I played my Wii I bet this would annoy me more. As it stands, it hasn't been touched since Smash came out.

I hope they can figure out how to load games from a SD card or HDD. It would be nice if they had the HDD capability but kinda lame if I still have to switch out my games from the internal memory to the HDD.

I'm pisse about the fact that I can't move most of the very large save files that I have from my Wii's internal memory over to an SD card... the line about having SD cards be extra space is fucking bull, because I can't copy my very large SSBB file from my Wii's internal memory to my SD card.

A software path to allow loading from SD card would be great, in the mean time . . .

I hope that they do fix this hard drive issue, in fact I'd expect an announcement about it at E3, if they know what's good for them. I don't even have a Wii yet, but its always needed a hard drive eventually.

What frustrates about Nintendo, is the way that they downplay the problem, like we a idiots or something. It makes it seem like we wrong when its them who find it hard to admit their mistakes, until its too late.

they downplay it like we're all 47 year old mothers of 3 who have never played a video game in their lives, you know the ones that they're targeting.
