UPDATE: Soul Calibur IV: Starkiller pictures & video
covah | 9:27 AM on 06.06.2008 21 comments

Last night I brought word that Namco Bandai and Lucasarts teamed up to bring Starkiller, Darth Vader's secret apprentice from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed as a playable character in both versions of Soul Calibur IV. At the time there were no pictures, but that has changed all thanks to Jeux France who got some flashy new screens.

Updated with video. Its pretty much the same trailer they've been showing but they put Starkiller in on the end

Am I the only one who thinks holding a lightsaber like that is ridiculously silly?

kid looks like an Anakin clone if you ask me . . .

I hope that's not the big twist in The Force Unleashed . . .

because that's easy.

Not alone. All this tonfa-saber, backward grip light saber stuff, while pretty bad ass for a picture or two, do feel really silly in the context of the rest of the series

Well, he is an apprentice. Maybe he doesn't realize he's holding it backwards.

Wasn't "Starkiller" the original last name of Luke Skywalker during the pre-production of the old movie but then they changed it because they thought the hero shouldn't be killing things (or something like that)? Kinda neat they brought that name back into the fold.

Also, I personally think holding a sword/lightsaber like that is badass, which I presume is what they were going for in the first place.

@B-Radicate

why yes it was. It could or could not be a connection, but at least its Lucasarts homage to the franchise.

and I think it's badass too.

I like the Starkiller reference. That's pretty neat. But am I the only one that thinks he kinda looks plain? I mean, take the lightsaber away and there isn't really anything that sets him apart visually from any other videogame "badass".

At least his reverse-grip will set him apart from the other sword-users

So this is true then? Thank God. I'm getting it for 360 and was pretty irritated that I was going to be stuck with Yoda over Vader.

[starwarsgeekery] It's speculated Vader's apprentice uses the Shien form of lightsaber combat, which utilizes wide, sweeping movements to combat multiple opponents at once. [/starwarsgeekery]

C'mon ppl do some research.
