PSA: Batman Arkham Asylum demo up on UK PSN
covah | 12:03 PM on 08.06.2009 16 comments

Title explains it all. Apparently its up on a few other EU PSN territories too... except the Dutch, no Batman for you. You may see an ad for it, but it will lead you else where, just go to search and type in "Batman" it should be the third or fourth result you get. Demo is about 1.4GB, and I'm in the process of downloading it.

Not sure if its on EU 360s or not, but if you don't have a UK/EU PSN account, they're really easy to make, that's what I did.

Regardless, the demo shall be up everywhere officially tomorrow.

I have already downloaded and played it. It's pretty decent demo, also pretty long, but fairly easy too.

How'd you make an EU PSN account? I just tried, and it literally won't let me switch my location to anything other than United States after I enter an email address and account name and shit.

That's weird. What I did was created a new console user after I logged in to my normal one, then had that one sign up for a PSN account and set everything to the UK. I think you need a valid address too? I put Buckingham palace.

I didn't even have the opportunity to put in a non-US address -- "United States" was greyed out and couldn't be changed, unfortunately.

God help me if I have to wait 12 hours to play a demo I've probably already handled before.

Huh, that's odd. Well I can say its not the store demo, but I don't know what you've played that us non dtoid staff haven't. Basically the demo is the beginning of the game, they cut out escorting the joker and go to straight to him escaping, you fight some dudes, go some place, it cuts out, you drop in on Zsasz, then you move through arkham a little bit and take out three armed guards, then you go to a big room where you have to stay up in the rafters trying to pick off guys with out the others knowing. Cut to Joker releasing a big mutant, end demo.

I've tried it.

Pretty generic, slow paced, nothing special.
Will probably make Batman fan's blow their load all over the shop though.

I have no trouble making a US or JPN account. Odd.

I might give this a a try, saw the news on VG247.

Yeah this game completely rides on the source material, and thats what makes it awesome for me. The way the fighting pans out is made better by the fact that it IS batman. Plus anything to have Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil voice Batman and the Joker again is good in my books. Although, I wish they did the VO the way they did the animated series, by having all the voice actors in the room at once so they feed off each other.

downloading it now, thanks for the heads-up.
i have EU, JAP and US accounts (i game from CAN) just for situations like these.
i think the last time i used an alternative account was when sprint was giving Rag Doll Kung-Fu away for free on the US PSN.

I made an account for UK and Japan before, it was pretty easy. I think Anthony is just doing something wrong.

Weird, I have U.S., European, Japanese, and Austrian accounts. Never gave me an issue even once.

I liked the demo. The only thing bothering me was Batman's stiffness in the cutscenes. Everyone is breathing and moving around while Batman barely moves a muscle.

The demo is a lot of fun, but the issue I had with it was the lip synching. It doesn't always look bad, but it has moments where it is noticeable.
