Either way, I'll still be playing this on my PS3.
You're an idiot. I don't have a PS3, but that's still stupid statement.
Come on, you have to admit that that losing exclusivity of FFXIII is a huge loss to Sony in bragging rights and possible console purchase. Saying that they have been "owned" is not off base.
Not stupid at all, the PS3 had two huge exclusives they pimped Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XIII. They just lost a HUGE they've had their system exclusively for 11 years now (aside from XI)
If that's not ownage, I don't know what is.
Also I started screaming when Wada came back on and tapped Don on the shoulder. I was like "Fuck... no way that's gonna happen." When they introduced the Squeenix guy first I was like "Maybe FFXIII?" And when he finished I was disappointed but not surprised. When the trailer came up I shit a brick.
I think that this could definitely help the 360 in Japan. With four RPGs coming from Squeenix, some exclusive, I think they're going to see some kind of boost over there.
It is launching the SAME day as the PS3
Hmm, great news indeed, I can now look forward to the next FF on my future console, God willing.
@ Aertyr:
Here ya go... *Vulcan nerve pinch*
I'm a ps3 owner and I have had no desire to purchase FFXIII since the first time it was announced, and I am a fan of Final Fantasy. Squeenix has lost its touch imho.
Now that Microsoft's been, what will Sony have; I wonder?
I'll get whichever version comes on fewer disks or with more content.
Was it me or did the chick singing on stage look high?? lol.
Microsoft uses FFXIII.
It's super effective.
PS3 fanboy uses multiple disc argument
It has little effect.
Seriously I have no problem if it is multiple discs. I would rather have had MGS4 be multiple discs then wait 4 minutes every time I beat an act. Even worse is when you load a save game from an older act and have to install the old act then reinstall the new act when you switch back to your original save.
But about the announcement, I'm trying to be unbiased here, but right now it seems that PS3 doesn't have any big hitting games to sell itself on. I mean, the only game that I was really willing to dump all of my money into a PStriple was Final Fantasy. I'm getting up early to watch Sony's conference tomorrow, so I hope they something lined up to knock us out of the park.
Who said it had to be gimped? Chances are that it will fit on a DVD anyway. Most PS3 games don't take advantage of more than 9-10GB of space. As long as it fits in 8.7GB, they're fine. Hell, they might even do it on multiple discs, which is fine because it means no erroneous loading/installs.
Also, was anyone else bothered that they basically just put new music on the old trailer and mixed up the footage a bit? This game is far from being done.
It's like the olympics of video games~! Woooot!!
Are you really that lazy that you can't possibly change the disc in your system every 15 hours or so!?
lets be honest, thats no big surprise. FFXIII wasn't going to convert any japanese to 360
*ahem*
STFUAJPG!!!!!!
that is all
