A solution to your Fable II debt issues
covah | 12:23 PM on 08.16.2008 10 comments

Two days ago I posted about how everyone playing the Fable II pub games was probably going to be in an assolad of debt by the time Fable II comes out. But through a cheat/glitch/design flaw, you can make all your money back and more in Fortune's Tower.

Step 1: Go to your unlocked Fortune's Tower variants and find the one you can make the highest bet in, start the game.
Step 2: Make the lowest possible bet, Press A to start the game
Step 3: Press LB before the second row of cards are laid down, its best to just be mashing LB as soon as you press A to start the game.

This will raise your bet to the maximum BUT, you will still be betting the minimum. Say you bet 15 and the highest you can bet is 150, the game will only take 15 gold from you but will think that you bet 150. So lets say the cards add up to only 10, which is less than you would need to break even if you weren't using this glitch (15.) You'll still make a profit because the game thinks you're betting the max. You'll take 100 gold in that situation making 85 instead of losing 50.

Step 4: before you start a new round LOWER YOUR BET again. The game will still keep you at the maximum betting after that round meaning you'll actually bet that maximum amount.

Once you get the hang of it, you'll be raking in the cash in no time. I went from having about 1000 gold today to 60929 gold with a 4 star rating. This is also a very easy way to win all the tournaments in this game giving you access to in game Fable II items. Could it possibly take the fun out of the game and Fable II for some people? yeah sure, but for people like me it doesn't matter, it just gives me an easier route to buy everything I want.

as a note, I'd be wary of any update that comes out for Pub Games, it could fix this glitch. Something similar happened in Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 where an update fixed a sign out glitch that let you sign out of the game during roulette until you won big. A simple fix to this is to never update the game, and just play it offline.

If Fable II hasn't gone gold yet then there's still time to patch this on the disc. But, good luck getting this to transfer over!

If being lame means owning houses out the ass with multiple wives in Fable II, then okay sure haha.

The turbo controller has been my steady friend these past few days. At least, it makes Shutterbox a bit more tolerable that way.

worth noting: that debt/winnings merge is optional.

I don't know how you could get in to debt playing the Pub Games. Well, everything other than Fortune's Tower maybe, but winning at Fortune's Tower is piss easy. Even tournaments are easily won with the right system.
