We all know that old man JT is just a hop and a skip away from being disbarred for a minimum of 10 years, but is he just going to disappear quietly? Hell no. Whereas anyone else would have said "OK, it was a good run, but I'm doing it wrong.", Thompson thinks "How can I jump back in the game headfirst?"
Over Memorial Day Wacko Jacko appeared on a local Florida political radio program, and in response to a caller's question "My hope is that maybe one day I'll be in that legislature..." 
This is the last thing we need. I mean, I highly doubt he would get elected after all of his shenanigans, but I can see him unraveling all of Congress with his dumbass tactics. [Audio excerpt here, via GamePolitics]

I would think that either Congress or the Senate would lack the patience with JT and his constant fillibustering. I can't see him getting elected, but I'm the same guy who thought there was zero chance that Bush would get a second term...So maybe I'm not the best of prognosticators.

Remember this: he does live in Florida, and Floridians are unbelievably stupid. Plus, old people love to censor shit that offends them, whether they have to see it or not. They hate seeing other people happy. Old people live in Florida. He also has no regard for the truth when "supporting" his cause, which would make for an excellent mudslinging campaign. I think his chance of being elected is greater than you think.
You know, JT is lie Hugo Chavez (Venezuelan president/dictator), excentric, bully, likes to talk a lot, very irresponsable... he may become an emperor.
