[This post is basically 2 smaller posts combined into one, the first half explaining whats going on with me right now and the second half is some sentimental Destructoid bullshit. 99% of you will just want to skip to the second half.

I know what you're thinking. "Coonskin, Monday's fucking fucking blow! The weekend is over, I have to go to work today, and it's only one letter away from Zonday. Fuck that!" Well normally I would agree with you. But today I got back to college from "home", and it is about time. Most college kids go home over the summers so they can enjoy themselves. I knew I was only going home for a week and a half since summer school starts a week from today, which isn't long, so I stupidly did not bring any game systems with me (besides PSP/DS) and not to bring my laptop since my younger brothers have a computer. What I was not aware of was that their computer was so virus-riddled, shittastic that it was barely usable, causing me to not be able to be on DToid or IRC almost at all, which was fucking horrible. I never realized how addicted I am to this site until I had to go 10 days almost cold turkey. But now I'm back to civilization, and I am going to try to be up in everybody's shit more than ever. Now on to the second part.

This summer is shaping up to be a big one for me and my involvement in the DToid community. In 3 short months I am going to roadtrip from Texas to Ohio for the Cincinnati NARP, host the Texas NARP, and fly to Seattle for PAX. Now the point of this is not to toot my own horn, but to make an observation about the community. It's amazing to just read the emailer we have for people attending the Cincinnati NARP. Here's almost 100 people that have mostly never met each other, and they're making driving and hotel arrangements with each other like they're old friends setting up a class reunion or something.

Also the fact that so many people are willing to drive across the country for a get together at a wing bar is awesome, and in my opinion is really a testament to what Niero has created here. Hell, there are people coming from not only across the country but from the UK, Australia, and New Zealand for PAX, just to hang out with their internet friends. Niero, I just hope you remember this when people talk shit about DToid selling out, or being immature, or a redesign that they don't like, that there are still tons of us that would travel across the globe because we believe in what you have built here at Destructoid.
