Yes, good ole IRC. Whether you've been there for a few weeks or since Bluewolf ran it *shudders*, you know of it's addicting nature. IRC is an amazing time waster whether you're at work, class, or home. But recently it seems like IRC has been a bit of a springboard for community members. Take a certain Jonathan Ross. Just recently we moderators decided we needed a new half-op since there has been the influx of people (<3 Niero for that), and we quickly came to agreement that longtime member Aerox was the best choice. Not long after,
this popped up. But it wasn't a one-time occurrence. Go to the front page right now and you will see
this.
Nevermind the fact that Aerox was already a staff member and bff with Kokomo. Things like that are called semantics, and I can't have them getting in the way of my cold, hard facts. And the facts are that IRC helps get you promoted in the community, so
get your ass in there!
Note: It is not scientifically proven that IRC helps you get promoted in the community, and neither IRC, Destructoid, Coonskin05, nor anyone else is liable for that claim.
Oh but people who go there get to talk to me and hear my brilliance. Or my insanity. Depends on the time of day you show up.
Because I'm not joining until the racists are there.
Make dTunes official or I will cut you.
Tactix starts hanging out with Ben PerLee -> he starts front page blogging
Tactix visits Aerox in LA -> Jonathan Ross becomes an editor
Moral of the story: be nice to me :P
And the fact that AlsoCocks can tell me the weather. Going to propose to this bot in the near future!
I dunno. IRC is awesome.
