So let's start with a little info about myself.
I live in Quebec Canada, but don't worry I'm 85% English, I love to game, bike play tennis and get drunk, I goto University in Human Relations so I try to find ways to make people more effective in their own everyday lives. I am a video game tester but man it's not always fun, (you would be surprised how many horse/petz games are released every year.) I live on my own and things have been going well, I have been trying to be a better blogger and with you guys help/motivation/fail beatings I think that things will go very smooth.

I am trying to come up with a series, I need to work more at it.

So after years of sitting in the bright starlight of console gaming, I decided to go back to the seedy dark side of PC gaming, my last "gaming" PC was good enough to run Counterstrike, Quake 3, and diablo 2, maybe warcraft 3 at best.

Since I failed miserably at the Not my turning point pc contest, I had to go and fix me up with a rig.

Now is the time that I ascend into the pc gaming gods good graces, I have just order a set up that should allow me to enjoy many of the great games that happen on PC allow me to at least entertain you fine folks with the specs that I will be getting:

I would have gone with the Q9300 that just recently released, but the Q6600 (What I have) is still a powerhouse.

Also, which case did you buy? And did you order a third-party heatsink for the CPU or are you going to use the stock cooler?

Dude, that is one high-end video card! You must be rich :-)

You might want to up the RAM to 3GB for a bit of breathing room (no more than that unless you want to switch to 64-bit Vista for gaming). Good setup though, some solid hardware.

I usually go for separate sound card to take some of the load, to reduce CPU load, but I might be out of date on that (and this system is a beast anyway)

I was lucky enough to get me a 64-xp OEM, fuck Vista, that platform reeks of ME, I'll wait for windows 9

Sorry to inform you, but 64 bit XP pretty much sucks worse than Vista. As far as I can see it has less support than Vista x64 and is pretty much the bastard child of XP.

well I do know that vista was a hell of a lot more expensive, and if I know anything about windows they will be releasing a better version of vista within the next year or two so I'll live
