How To Survive is an action role playing game in the vein of diablo. The game was released in late 2013 on STEAM, XBLA and PSN. In the game you must scavange items to craft into weapons as well as keep on how hungry, thirsty or tied your characters are. Aside from the main campaign the game also sports a challenge mode and an online mode that latter of which seems to be missing players. To progress in the game you must learn and follow Kovac's rules that will teach you how to do everything from forage for fruits and vegetables, to crafting a gun. Throughout the game you'll ecounter a fairly limited assortment of enemies such as zombies in various sizes, zombie crabs which basically look like headcrabs from half life and other variants of zombies. You'll also come across animals that you can hunt, kill and cook such as tapir and deer. Aside from the main storyline which pretty much entails the player following kovac's rules whilst taking on arbitrary fetch quests from npc's that have nothing interesting to say, you'll also have the option to do some side quests. These pretty much take the shape of you guess it more fetch questing only this time for talking monkeys not talking humans. The locales of game are varied you'll find yourself moving through beaches, swamps, and makeshift camps among the four islands. Each island can be travelled to using a boat so long as you the boat is repaired if broken and has gasoline. With the abundance of zombie video games, particularly on steam right now I could not recommend this to anyone it just seems to lacking in basic features to be enjoyable and perhaps is better suited to those who don't typically play Role playing games and want something to get their feet wet, but even then you'll find the campaign far too meager to properly get into it.

Gameplay and review of Dead Effect which was originally released on IOS.and has recently been ported to pc via steam as an early access game. Currently it is missing cooperative multiplayer. Dead effect is a survival horror first person shooter video game that has focus on unlocking new and secret weapons using credits earned in game. The game has a variety of secret orbs and tablets that the player can collect in the original IOS version, these appear to be missing from the steam pc version. The market has been completely over-saturated with zombie shooters in this current generation of console with games like left 4 dead, call of duty black ops, killing floor, Arma II Day Z mod, zombie shooter, dead island and a host of others. This is certainly not the best video game zombie first person shooter, but it is certainly not the worst video game zombie first person shooter. Personally I would wait to see whatever horror game get's released in 2014 or 2015 than pick this video game up.
