Link to the Past is a great game, but #1? NO. Never.
I have to Agree with you there, Dfinently in my Top 10, But Number one for me, Ye-allstars. SMBAllstars, My first game ever (Yay, Pack-ins) and inclusion of One of the Greatest SNES games ever (World) with a never-before-released-in-the-USA games (LL) and 'regraphisized' versions of the NES games with our favourite plumber.
Saw this site a while ago. For the top 20 or so picks you should really ignore the numbering or else anger/hurt feelings will ensue.
Super Metroid would be my number 1. I never played Link to the Past, I guess that's what Virtual Console is for.
OMG, Coire your list is terrible. Those picks all suck. The Top 8, in order, should be John Madden Football, John Madden Football '93, Madden NFL '94-'98, and Faceball 2000.
Link to the Past is my #1. Super Metroid is my #2.
Holy Fuck, Its Syd Lexia (Assuming its the real Syd Lexia, I've had problems with people creating fake accounts just to post comments on my blogs before...lollypopguild.) Dude, Your site is awesome. Sorry about saying Allstars is My favourite SNES game (which Your list clearly disagrees with), but I never had a NES, so what was on that cart was all new to me. I would've liked to see Super Bonk on the list, but it was your guys' list, so fnck me.
(Your top 8 sound really similar to what my brother's would have been, except he'd of replaced Faceball2000 with Fifa...)
Indeed, it is really me, and I can prove it: http://sydlexia.com/coire.html
I never liked All-Stars, but DarkMaze's comments on it helped me see it in a new light. Like he said, the remakes will never replace the original games, but as reinterpretations, they weren't so bad. And the cart was four games in one, which was a very good deal at the time.
Super Bonk would have been a nice addition to the list. A few games I had really been pulling for such as Metal Marines, UN Squadron, and to a lesser extent Ninja Warrios, didn't make the list.
