About Me
My first video game I ever played was SNAFU on the Intellivision at the age of 3. But I never really BECAME a gamer until I played Super Mario Bros for the NES at the age of 4. Ever since that moment I knew that this would be my fate. Eventually, I felt a necessity to discover who we were as a culture and medium.

Through out my whole life I've been a gamer, I'm 23 now.

I feel that it is necessary to really start to expand and install certain philosophies/standards from the whole gaming industry.

This is what I'm about-

In this video I cover where I'm making improvements and flaws from past video blogs aside from that, another timely opinion about what to expect in 2011 and reflections about 2010. Again, sorry about the lag.

I'm not trying to be a dick or tell you what to do or anything of that sort, I am simply going to tell you "my" opinion. I'm never going to watch these videos. Period. Although, I did watch one of your earlier ones a while back. This is not because I think they suck, or you suck, or whatever. It's simply because I come here to read blogs and not watch videos.

I can't speak for everyone but if you were to write blogs you would have atleast one person guaranteed to read and comment on every blog you post.

Alright well, thanks for the response none the less. I know and understand that there are some people that actually prefer written work. It's all good man.

I'm with caffeine knight on this one. I want to read words, not hear you speak. This is cblogs not vblogs. Your posts seem to be nothing more than a chance to show us you have a YouTube account and a face, neither of those points need making.

Why not transcribe your video and post that here?

Woah, woah, woah, Chainsaw started video blogging? When did that happen. I must say I'm actually excited about this. I'm glad you realized that this community is not only passionate about games, but many of us are capable of really holding an intelligent conversation on the subject. I can't really blame you for figuring that people on the internet are a bunch of jackasses, as there are plenty of those around, but I have found that the cblogs are a place where people can really get their points across. I realized you were a smart guy back when you were blogging but the way you presented yourself to us just turned me off to trying to hold polite discourse. Anyway, happy times, I look forward to commenting on your future work.

As for the subject of that work, I actually enjoy talking about topics that are not directly related to video games, but have a serious impact on them. As you said, politics and economics are a big part of gaming, and I really enjoy talking about them, especially the business end of it. I also follow the politics, such as court rulings and other legislature pertaining to it, for instance the piece of Californian legislature that is undergoing review from the supreme court right now. My guess is it gets struck down for limiting free speech, as I believe it should.

I'm also looking forward to whatever else you have to bring to the table. Good to see you found your groove. If I may make some suggestions, I don't know if you use a script for this or not, but if you do you may want to transpose it into the actual blog as well as posting the video. As some of the other commenters have said, they prefer written blogs and if you do have a script you may as well try to get your message to everyone. If not, just some bullet points about ideas that you touch on in the video and maybe even the times for reference could help your blog from being more than just a video and a couple of sentences. Just some thoughts, take them as you will.

great idea there Enkido!

Chris, if you don't have a script there, well, you can replay it and write down whatever it is you just said there, right? You don't have to rush publishing these things, and we actually encourage works that are well created, it is easy to see works that are well-crafted and effort-ed(damn, running out of vocabularies).

I don't know, but as what some folks (even me) been telling you. It's just a tad bit off-putting FOR SOME OF US(so probably, the problem's not you there, probably) to watch a candid thought rather than read it. And it's kinda disappointing, especially for me, that, the actual people you hope to get(like me, people that wants to have a relevant discussion and opinions) are kinda missing out your thoughts because they're(even myself) simply, as I said, "not into" Vlogs.

It's good to see you are, finally getting it, to finally realize that we are actually a bunch of capable and palatable folks here. Just remember, YOU ARE the speaker/writer and we are the listeners/readers, everything you said will be the basis of what we'll think about you, don't be a douche/oranytermsynonymoustothis, you can deliver relevant thoughts without being one.

Happy New Year man!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
