"Video Games Live" is Worth 50 Dollars. Nothing More.

If there's one person that I hate in the video game industry it's Tommy Tallarico. Unfortunately, he's the one that made this event- he had money. It has the word video games in it... so I went with it...

and the results were... 6 out of 10, average. Nothing that you couldn't see on Youtube, or download the crystal clear version on the net as MP3. Sure the orchestra was there.. but that whole concept fades away when you realize that these are just renditions of song we've all heard 4000 times.

Cosplay Contest.. (I hate cosplay generally...) I actually, took a picture of the winner of the contest (shiek). There was also a Kadaj that which he came in second, (but I don't give much of a fuck about Final Fantasy- So I don't give much of a fuck about him.)

THE LINE UP

(Keep in mind that very cultured gamer and a gaming pessimist. My friend who may be considered the direct opposite actually gave the whole event a 7/8)

Ms. Pac-man skit

Looked liked something that was made on Youtube

Old School Medley

Personal Favorite, check it out on Youtube.

Metal Gear Series

Not as good as you might think.

Beyond good and evil

Something that actually deserves this production. perhaps the REASON why I went.

God of War

WHATEVER. I have no feelings towards something that's basically senseless chior shouting.

Civilization 4

What I said above... Generic

Myst Series

Really good live. Does Myst so much justice; perhaps more justice than it deserves.

-Loading Screen for the intermission-

Definitely a tribute to the PSP.

Kingdom Hearts

Actually really good. Sounds like the MP3!

Sonic Medley

I didn't care... Personally my favorite songs in Sonic are the ones from Sonic 2- Stage 2.

Video Games Pianist- Final Fantasy

Check it out on YouTube.

Mario Series

Cool but fucking cliched.

Video Game Pianist- Mario Series

Youtube it up!

Video Game Pianist- Namco Games

This impressed me simply because the man played Galaga on a bloody piano.

World of Warcaft

I have too much hate for the game to give two shits.

Halo Theme

I don't like the Halo choir/song/err theme personally... Might be worth it if you enjoy Halo. I don't.

Starcraft 2

Sounded like a really REALLY good idea... untill... I couldn't relate with any of the song.

One Winged Angel

FUCK IT. NOT AGAIN. LETS GO HOME.

I suppose the main problem with my whole experience is the fact that I heard the whole Super Smash Bros Brawl soundtrack the night before. And that blew my fucking mind. Nothing can withstand the power of Brawl it seems... not even this whole production.

Half of the people that went to the concerts had already seen the "videos on youtube", thus spoiling a great part of the surprise and/or magic. I don't know if you were one of them but it still has to be mentioned. I just wish they'll come round these parts soon. And Civilization 4? Wow, I'd love to listen to Baba Yetu live.

Man that sucks. I never had the chance to act, but I'd never go to anything that Tommy Tallarico has a hand in.

Cubilone, I was one of those people who saw a good portion on Youtube. But not enough to see the whole experience... more like get an idea as to what the event was about.

Civilization 4 was a powerfull song... though, it was really pushed by it's vocals rather than it's musical substance. The likes of classics and cult classic is what pushed the experience in my view.

 about me

My name is Chris Bradshaw, I live in Canada- y'know home of the REAL free. I keep reading these stupid ass headline on the Newsnow feed... and there's always SOME sort of ass remark about the Wii somewhere. It's come to the point where I've seen those views actually manipulate the general 'hardcore (Dtoid) gamers' and I've kept quiet and I read stupid remark after another... but not anymore. I think these blogs need to have a Nintendo guy by there side to even the odds. Definitely. Someone who knows that there's more to Nintendo Wii than just -Mario -Zak and Wiki.

I'm not a Nintendo 'fan boy' but I suppose that's something you'll figure out over time.
