Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Haha, Raiden does look like a woman....
Also Scorpion seems to be signalling (in the new one) and turning saying "Put your tits away!" to that girl behind him (yeah, I dunno who the fuck she is.... sorry. Guile's bird?)
Even if this didn't come with a game I'd buy it.
Hahaha man box art back in the day was so money
Downgrade.
HAHAHAHA!!! X-D
Kano over Johnny Cage? Fuck that noise.
Wow, thank you for sharing this glimpse into the insane early 90s. Johnny Cage is truly a lunatic, but Jax is a fucking BEAST in that picture.
@Clance
That would be Sonya Blade. She sucks.
"Put your tits away" hahaha, oh man day saved
NO TITS FOR YOU
What the- That is got to be up there with the Megaman art.
...sigh... i'll explain a little history for you.
Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and 3,were one of the few games that used digital images of actual actors for their in game sprites. The "crazy" actors you see in the second image are the actual actors who played the roles of the characters. (with the exception of Scorpion, who was played by Daniel Pesina, who also played Johnny Cage, who is pictured)
If they where still using digital sprites, no doubt they would still be using the actors for the new MK vs. DC.
But, instead, going with totally 3D NEXT GEN hoopla, They got the next best thing. The got critically acclaimed artist Alex Ross to design the image. Alex Ross is best know for his work for Marvel and DC, with such books as: Marvels, Kindgom Come, and Justice. He is epic, and world known in the comic industry, as well as others.
Hope this clears up this "crazy zaniness".
