ok here's a little contest. it really requires little effort (or you could make it pretty epic with some effort).
Act out some element of your favorite or one your favorite games (if your favorite game happens to be rather obscure like mine (terranigma)). Take some sequential photos, like a comic book, at the most pertinent moments of your acting to create a little photo comic and see if other people can guess what game it is.
here's a cheesy fast example:
and hopefully people can look at that and say "oh, that's okami."
but wait, there are
rules!
1.
No Nerdcore. That way people won't just vote for some nekkid chick.
2.
No Cosplay. That makes it way to easy to figure out the game.
3. Props are ok, but they have to be rather generic looking.
4. Other actors are ok if necessary.
5.
Minumum 3 panels. You don't have to actually photoshop them into panels (although its' nice if you do). just photos will do if you don't have the tools to do that.
6. I'm treating this like a legit art contest.
one entry per person. this doesn't mean you can do more then one entry, it just means I will only accept one entry in the end.
7. I was gonna say don't clog up cblogs with this, but I don't think that many people are willing to get of their butts to do this so just post your entry in cblogs.
also message me a link. it ain't my fault if I miss the post. although fat chance of me missing it since I do the daily recaps now.
Deadline is the last day of February, whatever the hell day that happens to be this year. The winner will get a kick ass painting of them in the game they chose. I know that doesn't sound to terribly cool, but it's cool when you see it. I'll also print it on some nice matte paper (assuming I can find a decent fucking printshop in LA) and sign it and send it to ya (this is a free thanks i give to anyone I paint. unless it's a commission, then I charge a shit ton of money).
It will be pretty damn cool if some of the other destructoid artists want to contribute to this (or help panel the judge?) so lemme know if you want to hop in on some collaborative art.
oh, and please
try not to get killed in the process.
