I bet you guys thought I just bailed on my own contest eh? that would of been a good guess. I've been so horrendously busy with work and house hunting (which f-in sucks to do in LA. Not as bad as say, Manhattan, but still shitty nonetheless) and other shit. Anyway, I finally got around to finishing this up, after a total of 65 hours of work on it. I present you with:
Riomis, Anti Shadow Robot Prototype, Manufacturing
Also available in 1080p Scale on my side bar.
So congrats Rio! Thanks for entering the contest! You're hot stuff and if you weren't already married to Concelmo all the single guys (and some ladies) would be hittin' on you. I'll ship you a print soon. Soon-ish. For now you can just wallpaper on your PS3 or somethin'.
Conrad, you're next buddy. I just gotta figure out how I'm gonna approach your piece.
but anywho Dizamn
Seriously though, awesome job man. This pic wins in so many ways.
Do you model it then photoshop it? Or just photoshop it?
I work mostly in painter. I usually lay out some cubes and cylinders in 3d as a basic perspective guide, although in this particular piece (as an experiment of sorts, I'm always trying different approaches in my art) I went all the way and modelled damn near every detail.
@aerox
lol. That would be way to far of a commute for me...
On a more serious note: WOW! Good work ceark! That's brilliant!
My only problem with it is entirely personal and kinda stupid. There's a joint for the wing rigging on the right with an icon etched into it. It looks like the etching I had on a pocket knife as a kid. Now I keep looking at the drawing and imagining that section as a pocket knife. =(
Nice work, ceark!
thanks ^_^
also I think still owe me a photo. and maybe a tshirt. >.> lol
@glipe
that's actually supposed to be a gyroscope
it's hard to tell though. At 1080p that's only half the original resolution I painted it at
