(If an NPD post has been done already, I apologize. I didn't see one, so...)
The July NPD numbers are in. Let's take a look:
Wii: 425,000
Nintendo DS: 405,000
PlayStation 2: 222,000
PlayStation Portable: 214,000
Xbox 360: 170,000
PlayStation 3: 159,000
Game Boy Advance: 87,000
Two fairly amazing things.
1) Even with the price cut, PS3 was still outsold by 360, though barely. I was sure that PS3 at least for this month would have jumped ahead of 360. Maybe it's just me, but this seems like nothing but more bad news for Sony. This was their price cut for now, and they still didn't beat Xbox. Then, in August, we'll see the effects of the 360 price cut, where I assume 360 will sell more than PS3 again, and by a much greater number than this month. Poor Sony...
2) News Flash: The Wii is popular. It outsells the DS. 425,000...that's a fucking lot of systems compared to PS3 and 360. I know it's been said before, but just wait until the Wii get's some big games out (Metroid, etc.) and more systems on shelves.
