Call of Duty 4: Memory (Hard Drive?!) Required

Now this is interesting. As I'm sure you've seen on the Destructoid front page, Infinity Ward is asking for comments regarding possible box art for Call of Duty 4. The examples they give are for the 360 version. Take a look:

Yeah.

That box at the bottom? "Storage Required"? Shows a memory unit and a hard drive? What's that about?

It seems obvious the 360 won't require a hard drive, per se, but "storage required?" Correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems to be a first. What do you guys think?

Exactly! Sounds like they'll be pushing for downloadable content. Which is expected, but definitely a wonderful confirmation.

I dunno, previous games didn't have that logo for DLC. Maybe something is being transferred onto the harddrive from the disc?

I told you it might happen. Thats what I'm thinking at this point: they are probably going to stream through he disk.

Who the hell doesn't have a memory card or a hard drive for their machine anyway? Do people actually play without saving? That's hardcore.

I'm hoping to get through GTA IV in one sitting. All of it. Saving is for the weak.

I'm sure there will be downloadable content sooner or later, but maybe this just means you need a memory unit to save your game...

Me thinks you might be onto something. I just checked all my 360 games and nowhere did I see anything about "storage required".

Additionally, I just realized that Guitar Hero II is the only game I have that isn't rated M. Violence FTW!
