A BIOSHOCK movie has been confirmed in Variety.

The film will be directed and produced by Gore Verbinski (the three Pirates of the Caribbean movies and The Ring).

It will be written by John Logan (Gladiator and The Aviator).

Ken Levine has heavy involvement in the movie.

Look! Story!

Look! Interview about the movie with director Verbinski!

I dunno about you but if they're set on making a movie, I think this is the way to do it.

**Quotes for the direcotr for those who don't like extensive reading**

"It's a much more intimate story than 'Pirates.' Although its an adventure, it’s a dramatic adventure. I see it more along the lines of 'Blade Runner.'"

"I think we'll go right up to the edge with the Little Sisters. I don’t want to soften it to the point where the core audience feels betrayed."

"We're prepared to make it an R-rated movie. I don’t intuitively see it as PG-13. The content and the graphic nature of the story itself is smarter than that. It's not for young kids."

"I don’t intuitively see it as PG-13."

Funny, I was thinking the same thing, except "a film" instead of "PG-13".

If this gets made as a movie, my whole life will be to ruin it for as many people as possible who choose to take this wonderful game in as some piffle pop culture crap to be
diluted to death at the hands of visionless executives.

ATLAS IS FONTAINE!
... I'll watch it.
It would be interesting to watch, but the twist is already spoiled for us so I doubt it will be as good.

Real big daddys and flying turrets would be awesome to see though.
I think I would probably go see this. I am curious to see how they will portray the atmosphere on the big screen. Bioshock was one of my favorite games last year, and I really hope they do the game justice. They can cast anyone they want for the main character since we never actually see what he looks like.
I'll watch it, but the entire time I'll be yelling "INACCURATE!" and "THE GAME WAS BETTER! 10/10! BEST GAME EVER 2007!"
I'm gonna stand in front of the theater in protest yelling, "Atlas is Fontaine!"

there's a question mark missing from the end of the title to this post, right? i mean come on, it's Gore Verbinski... whoop de freakin' do.
You think you liked Bioshock, try playing it after seeing this movie and i dare you not to cringe.
if they fail, I will kill them all.
from the article: "Players control a pilot who crash-lands at a secret entrance to the city"

so...so.... close
God this makes me mad. Of all the directors they could have chosen, they got fucking Gore Verbinski.
I highly dout this will be good. But then again I've been wrong before.
Maybe I'm crazy but I'm optimistic.
