A BIOSHOCK movie has been confirmed in Variety.
The film will be directed and produced by Gore Verbinski (the three Pirates of the Caribbean movies and The Ring).
It will be written by John Logan (Gladiator and The Aviator).
Ken Levine has heavy involvement in the movie.
Look! Story!
Look! Interview about the movie with director Verbinski!
I dunno about you but if they're set on making a movie, I think this is the way to do it.
**Quotes for the direcotr for those who don't like extensive reading**
"It's a much more intimate story than 'Pirates.' Although its an adventure, it’s a dramatic adventure. I see it more along the lines of 'Blade Runner.'"
"I think we'll go right up to the edge with the Little Sisters. I don’t want to soften it to the point where the core audience feels betrayed."
"We're prepared to make it an R-rated movie. I don’t intuitively see it as PG-13. The content and the graphic nature of the story itself is smarter than that. It's not for young kids."

Funny, I was thinking the same thing, except "a film" instead of "PG-13".
If this gets made as a movie, my whole life will be to ruin it for as many people as possible who choose to take this wonderful game in as some piffle pop culture crap to be
diluted to death at the hands of visionless executives.
