This Will Turn Your Brain To Shit
bottled dark | 8:38 PM on 11.09.2007 3 comments

The musical duet known as Blubber Fatality will now perform a classic mindfuck song by They Might Be Giants.

Forever will linger in your mind the fact that you're older than you've ever been and now you're even older, and now you're even older, and now you're even older, and now you're even older, and now you're, and now you lost the game, and now you're even older, and now you're even older, and now you're even older, and now you're even older, and now you're even older, and now you're even older, and now you're even older, and now you're even older, and now you're even older, and now you're even older, and now you're even older, and now you're older still.

A Few Things
bottled dark | 1:38 PM on 11.08.2007 2 comments

I did a few gaming related c-blog worthy events recently and figured I could put them all into one post an possible come up with some worthwhile content.

I honestly doubt it.

First off, I now officially represent the dtoid army on xbox live by dropping a measly 80mspoints and getting a set of pictures that don't really matter, and mistuh dtoid himself. Hoop de freakin doo, I still don't have bomberman, but I have something worse!

Wartech Senko no Ronde came in the mail yesterday, and I got a good chance to be disappointed that it was a 1v1 shmup battle type game, instead of the classic/awesome shmup formula. I played enough to get the "Play An Hour" achievement, but otherwise the game is just really freaking hard, well the last boss is, otherwise the game is retard easy. Maybe the character I picked sucked? Does anyone know if Cuilan was a bad choice? Oh well, hopefully some other dtoiders picked it up and we'll see it on FNF or something.

It is kind of fun. About $10 of fun.

Also I purchased the super duper popular Guitar Hero 3, and beat the expert story mode in a day.
The songs are fun as hell, and they made some great decisions on bands to put in (Gallows song In The Belly Of A Shark was a great surprise), but the new hammer-on system pretty much confounded me until I had already beaten expert and started playing hard for achievement points, cuz I'm a whore like that, that I figured out that it doesn't matter how far apart the notes are and the rules no longer apply.

Guitar Hero 3's online component is fairly workable, I don't know if everyone is having the same issue as me, but if I don't host a game, I most likely won't connect to a game. It sucks, but that failed to connect box is the bane of my existence.

If you want to test your Metal, match frets and rock battle, send me a friend request on xbox live saying your from dtoid.

tl;dr people!

Robot Has A Message- Also A Review Of Zelda
bottled dark | 2:42 AM on 10.27.2007 4 comments

I don't want to be the guy that pissed this dude off.

Also a review:

The Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass:
I enjoyed the game thoroughly from beginning to end, and it feels like the one game in my collection that actually utilizes the stylus in creative ways. The boomerang, grappling hook and bombchu were interesting and fun to use, and really made you have to be quick with the stylus at some points. The tradition of endless collectibles in Zelda games return along with minigames. The game was wonderful, had that cute Windwaker feel to it and it was just a good classic Zelda experience.

I only had a few issues. The game was too short, cropping down the large scale ocean of Windwaker to a four quadrant map was a small let down for me, because it made me feel like I was almost being restricted. The islands that were there had that amazing Zelda whimsy to them that everyone loves so damn much. Also, occasionally the Menu button would get in the way while in furious battle, but all of these issues are easily overlooked and aren't really that huge of an issue when you look at the whole picture.

Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
8.5 / 10

I'm going to play Windwaker now, apparently at the end of it all it just makes you want to play the original more.

Game Time Unfortunately Forgot- Ozzy's Black Skies
bottled dark | 3:12 AM on 10.25.2007 4 comments

So there I am. Bored, sitting on my ass, doing nothing of any importance when suddenly a phrase flew into my mind: Ozzy's Black Skies.
That's right! I remember the posters and all the adds that were passed out at Ozzfest 2000 and all the major hype for the upcoming Ozzy marketing craze (a little before their show took off) The games IGN page clarifies that this title jumped from the originally planned PS2 release, to the more cost effective PC platform. Ultimately it's fate was CANCELLATION, but the page has the sales pitch still intact and a few shoddy screens of what appear to be an assured failure. The page says, "Take to the unfriendly skies with OZZY’S BLACK SKIES for the PC. Loosely based on the music of heavy metal pioneer Ozzy Osbourne, you’ll find yourself in the middle of a bitter power struggle for control of Fraewyn. Choose your flying beast and get ready for intense dogfights like you’ve never seen before. With unique weapons, several different campaigns, and the musical styling of Ozzy Osbourne, OZZY’S BLACK SKIES will take you to new heights."
So you play as a dragon and fight other dragons,

flying eyeballs

and... vikings? That's pretty epic.

It's like Lair, but with regular working controls and more epic apparently.

Also a similar fate befell Metallica: The Game witch apparently has only a video to prove it once existed. Oh well, I guess they all took a long, hard look at Revolution X and KISS: Psycho Circus, and decided that it was nothing but a waste of cash.

Bummer isn't it. Such potential. The greatest minds of widespread appeal metal could easily come up with some badass ideas that could make a great game.

Well maybe not.
Also, new avatar is the ever infamous Dogwelder.
Also, 1 AM clog idea ftw
