I believe we can all agree that the "instruments" that came with the many copies of Rock Band are... well, crap.
One of the largest problems is how loud the drum kit is, it can honestly piss neighbors off.
One rock enthusiast Brian Mentock set out to make rubber discs that stick to the pad, and make it both quieter and easier to work with. It's also supposed to give the pads a more realistic feel and sound then the usual loud CLAK CLAK CLAK CLAK CLAK that most people are used to.
Here's a video of someone playing Flirtin' With Disaster on Expert with the Rubber Pads.

For $30 do you think it's worth it?

Hmm $30 seems like a bit much but if it allows me to actually hear the song and have quieter drums I might pick these up.
i really hope they fix the quality of those instruments a bit by the time they release it here the EU around march...
looks sweet, i would enjoy those. Not only does it silence it a lot, it looks like the rubbers adds more bounce, making it easier to diddle.
Mentock? As in 'the Mindtaker'?

i had been reading a lot about this on the rockband forums and from what most people say, it does make the drum set a bit quieter but one of the main draws is the fact it makes the drums have more of a response like a real set of drums

and between DLC and trying to find those, damn rockband is costing me a lot of money...

stupid decent songs!
