While browsing GameTrailers today, I found a trailer for an upcoming game that looks better
than GTA IV and MGS4, combined! You might be asking yourself, how come I haven't heard of
this game? I don't have an answer for that question. All I know is Dtoid better review this
game. Ready to see the game? Okay, here it is.
YAY! A bicycle simulator. Awesome! I'm so excited.
Seriously now, a bike simulator? I mean come on. While I will say the bikers do look good,
everything else looks ridiculous. How about the crowd getting out of the way while you are
biking. Exciting! If I ever played this game, I'd do the same thing I do with NASCAR games:
get in the lead, then turn around and cause the biggest crash ever.

The race is on again in this 2008 edition of the Tour de France cycling simulation. You'll play as the general manager of one of 65 official cycling teams and will handle all aspects of a professional team's season. Numerous duties, including team recruiting, transfers, contracts, training and handling finances are required for you to create and manage the most competitive team. Throughout the 180 real-time 3D playable races, it's up to you to determine and put into action the best strategies by combining tactics, attacks, relays and much more.
Watching the Tour de France a few times, I've understood that managing a cycling team is more intricate than it looks.
For example, I'll list a few things that need to be thought about in a race;
1. Cyclists usually look to the yellow jersey (the leader) in order to gauge whether or not they need to break from the peleton to have a chance of taking the jersey from him. Put in stuff like whether the cyclist is a sprinter or a climber, how good he is at going downhill or riding in different weather conditions, and there are a lot of issues to contend with.
2. A team of cyclists need to support each other, but most importantly a leader that is likely to challenge for the lead. You not only need to find out who the person you need to support in the team, but if you need to switch leaders during the race. This depends on which member of the team is doing well overall. And this is critical if the leader comes off his bike, and needs support to catch back up to the peleton.
3. Cyclists in front usually guard cyclists behind them from the wind conditions. This makes the cyclist in front work a lot harder than those behind, and stamina is important in the Tour as a whole. The strength of wind and rain is a factor too.
4. Team cars need to be in the right place in order to hand a bike/change a wheel/lend assistance to a rider in trouble. Time to reach the rider and how fast to get the rider going again is critical. If the rider gets injured, can he continue to the finish line to continue the rest of the Tour?
This isn't a rant, and this game ain't neccesarily going to be good, but what I saying is there is a lot more going on in a bike race than you believe.
Maybe there is an option to do a 'drug/blood doping' sub-game. :OD

This and that Crazy Frog racing game are in another league of horrible.
Yeah, I went there.
