Here's my submission for the Velocity Micro Giveaway Contest! Entwining the holiday spirit with Destructoid lust, and a penchant for building forts since I was little produced this image of which I am so proud.
The first is a photo without flash which, I believe, captures the true spirit of the structure and effort. The second is with the lights on so as to show my ugly mug and the finer points of the work.
Submission:
Bonus:
The structure was made out of the following items:
14 Christmas presents wrapped in assorted Christmas wrap.
8ft long 1x6 plank of cedar, cut, nailed and tin foiled into a robot accessory.
1 green sheet.
1 Nintentdo, Super Nintendo, Gamecube, Xbox 360, & PS2
1 Santa Claus doll (The other is a present for our puppy)
1 100 light strand of blue lights.
1 strand of 5 "light balls" (They were in the closet!).
2 tall bar chairs.
1 broken window shade.
I just want to say how much fun this contest was for me and my parents. I'm home for the holidays and told them about this idea and was surprised when they offered to help! We spent the day making sketches and building our Presentstoid robot face and were extremely happy with our end product.
I hope the effort and spirit of this photo rivals the true power of nude men that others have submitted in the contest.
Thanks to Niero & crew for the great contest! Happy holidays everybody!
Nice to see something normal for once.
Yarr, at first we had it without the crosspiece and you couldn't tell what it was at all. I think it's because of all the wrapping paper colors.
Luckily there was some spare lumber and tinfoil around!
In my book we're all winners. Unless of course you've looked at Thornnn's pictures, in which we've both lost. Lost so so much. Epic sad face.
Merry Christmas! =D
