Star Ocean: The Last Hope Preview [Gametrailers]

By my 360 I have a copy of Infinite Undiscovery collecting dust, and while that really bugs me I just can't get myself to play it again. So when I watched this preview of the new Star Ocean game and loved every second, I had to question myself.

"Hey me! Let's think about this a little bit! This game is being developed by tri-Ace, published by Square-Enix, and it's even been made on the Infinite Undiscovery Engine! Since I haven't been enjoying that game, isn't it a bit early to fall in love with this game?"

To which I reply, "STAR OCEAN!" And then I promptly shut myself up. Anyone out there as excited as I am about this game?

lol what

I'm still deciding on whether or not to get that, or RE 5.

The problem with Infinite Undiscovery wasn't its engine, its was because that game wasn't properly finished.

@ Redzie That's what I'm hoping! I hope it was just a technical experiment and not a showing of a piss-poor development process/quickly designed engine.

I want this game, hell I enjoyed Enchanted Arms... crappy RPGs still have perks. I guess I just have really high expectations for Star Ocean and I'm SCARED.

After watching live feeds of the gameplay and what not, I am even more excited about Star Ocean 4. There's at least 40 hours of game play, two confirmed bonus dungeons with a possibility of a third, and a new playthrough from a clear save apparently allows you to make a rather large story choice that's made for you in the first playthrough. The IC is robust, the private actions I've seen are hilarious, especially the skits with Welch, and overall, I'm more hyped now than I was previously.

For all that you get with this game, I can take some bad voice acting and a change in the presentation of the menu and character portraits. Hell, bad voice acting should be something almost expected for all JRPG players, so much so that it's almost pointless to use it as a reason not to play.
