I got some spam in my email the other day from gamejobs.com, but it pointed me to an interesting event, of which I hadn't previously heard. The event: VGXPO! November 2-4 in Philadelphia at the PA Convention Center.

Festivities include the world's largest arcade all set to free play, battle of the 8-bit bands, education and job fair, LAN center, tournaments, cosplaying, and museum. There's probably more in there, too, but I don't feel like searching their website for all the details.

If anybody plans on going, let me know and we can meet up. I'll probably be in the arcade all weekend.

Mr. MAGFest was asked to help with that I believe...if I remember correctly he isn't. I heard a lot of stuff on tuesday night. Can't remember it all...

Sounds like MAGFest but in a smaller scale, maybe? I don't know, I am talking!

Yeah, definitely sounds smaller than MAGfest. But it's cheaper and closer to me, so I can attend both days without getting a hotel room.

I wouldn't go. The guy who runs it showed up to PAX, got drunk and started hitting on one of the female staff members, WHILE she was throwing him out for being an asshole.

MAGFest is only $35-40, is that really a lot for 4 days? I mean it is $10 more but it is also longer?

The price isn't a big deal, but the distance is. Alexandria is a good 2-2.5 hour drive, and I doubt I'll have the money for a hotel (and the wife might argue if I do).

Join the Dtoid suite and bring her along! $60 or less for TWO nights in a REALLY nice hotel.

5 confirmed, two to three almost confirmed. You and your wife would make it 9 or 10.

From what I've heard, VGXPO is worth missing, but I've heard good things about MAGFest. Alexandria is about 3 1/2 hours from me, which isn't too bad.
