Props to those who work retail
bl4km4th | 11:38 AM on 12.11.2007 2 comments

I gained a whole new respect for those who work retail. Sunday night I made the mistake of venturing into a Wal-Mart to finish up some Christmas shopping. Needless to say it was pretty fucking ridiculous. Wall to wall people with minimal amount of breathing space. Basically I was reminded why Amazon.com is my friend. Anyways, that respect comes from the fact that the people there put up with that shit for a solid month and you don't hear anything about Wal-Mart shooting rampages. What I saw there would immediately qualify is rampage material.

Keep up the good work people.

While I was making my way through the crowded aisles I spotted a Wii knock off I thought was pretty interesting. I apologize for the picture quality as it was taken from a phone. The game in the picture is a motion sensitive plug and play football game. They also had one for racing and maybe croquet too. This was the only one I could get a decent pic of without getting mowed down by some lady and her shopping cart.

It's amazing how in the absence of the Wii there's been so many niches created for different imitation products. I mean I guess it could be considered a good thing. At least a lot of little kids will get to flail there arms playing something on Christmas day.

There are a ton of Wii knockoffs in Walmarts and other shitty uberstores... I wonder how well they sell

Goddamn knock-offs, diminishing the brand.
But seriously though, Nintendo spends all this time and money doing marketing and shit and then people ride off it. Same with any other company that gets knocked off. I mean I know it's cool to knock success, but I mean if I worked for Ninty I'd be a lil' pissed.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
