Geometry Wars brings gaming addiction to new levels. It's also a good reason to invest in some kind of Nerf accessory to wrap your controller in because when you come a mere 10,000 points from your goal and you're wiped out by a rhombus you tend to get kind of frustrated.

Anyways, I felt the need for a blog post to inform everyone that this is a great game. It's like Asteroids if Asteroids ingested a massive dosage of PCP. Aside from the typical arcade scoring system Geometry Wars implements a system of medals to denote scoring accomplishments by the player. Not only are their medals but the game also supports Wi-Fi connectivity to see how you stack up against other players' scores.

After achieving my first gold medal I eagerly connected to the Wi-fi to see how many people I was better than. Sadly I ranked something like 944th. And I think that's out of a thousand. Well, I'm still better than 56 people out there and there's probably a good chance that those 56 people below me average an age of 3 and enjoy blowing spit bubbles when they're not gaming.

If you have the means I highly recommend picking it up.
