Calling in sick for something like Halo 3 is ridiculous.
That said, I'll have come down with ebola-AIDS-herpes on December 3, completely unrelated to Super Smash Bros. Brawl's release.
me: "hey boss...um.....I think I have 72-hour aids"
boss: "what?"
me: "yeah...no, it's pretty contageous, but i'll be cool in like....3 days, longer if I can't beat this damn boss...i mean bug. oh, and don't check my gamercard, or your computer will get the virus too"
I knew a guy that took off two weeks after the WoW expansion hit.
well MMO's are another story, i've heard horrible tales about what people will do to keep playing those for days on end. Like the chinese guy who just died from it
A guy I know is taking the whole fucking week off for Halo. I mean, come on.
I just don't get Halo. It's good and all but taking time off work, come on. I'll reserve that for Metroid Prime 3 (when Nintendo eventually get round to releasing it here) and Mario Galaxy.
I remember one time though I stayed off college for three days to play Wind Waker and my mum, who loves Zelda and desperately wanted to watch, stayed off work with me. Awesome.
