Man I love games. I grew up with an Atari and a Nintendo and have been hooked ever since. My gaming is almost exclusively on Xbox 360 but I do own a Wii and a DS (who doesn't?). I play a little bit of everything fro
FPS to RTS and even some racing games now and then. Love destructoid it's a great site and one I intend to follow for a long time.

Is it just me or does Alan Wake look like GOTY material?

[size=12][/size]Seriously, Remedy is shaping one hell of a game here. All of the influences on the game like X-files, Twin Peaks, and Stephen King are fantastic in their own right. Hell I was an X-files freak when Mulder and Scully were around. If all of these influences really shine through here we could all be store for something special here. Especially if it continues into a movie, book, or sequels. Come on May 18th!

Personally, I think it looks great, and it's the one single 360 game I'm actually caring about right now. I hope they release it for the PC eventually.

I just have to point out that Alan Wake is getting a T for Teen rating. Any other horror/spook game that's worth its salt goes for the mature rating.

Don't get me wrong, I want Alan Wake to be fucking amazing... but it really hasn't shown that it can be anywhere near that for now.

Alan Wake has to outdo some top notch titles and I don't know if it can. It is looking quite spiffy but I wouldn't throw it a GOTY consideration just yet.

All things are possible. But yea Mass Effect 2 is a HUGE heavyweight.

This isn't a horror game peeps. Read the Previews! It's action-adventure/thriller!! There is a difference.

Slasher genre stuff like Resident Evil doesn't qualify as horror. Alan Wake looks more like the genuine article.

Trailers look awesome, but that's what trailers are supposed to look, personally all the signs so far seemed to indicate mega stinker, the only thing that has made me think otherwise was Perlee's very positive preview, IMO it can go either way right now.

A rating does not a good game make. You just think it has to be gorey to be scary. Not so much.
