thanks for the image mate.
Also I see no problem in a game having different control, I quite like it. I hate feeling like I'm playing the same game only with different presentation.
And I hate producers who have a shitty control scheme or just copy a scheme from some other game and call it a day.
Anal on the first date? I really need to play the KZ2 multiplayer.
That's the smiling-brown-eye boys.
So, you can't keep playing Killzone 2 because it's different from Modern Warfare?
Anyway, there's a new patch that introduces something called the high precision control scheme, which may have been inserted to assuage your complaints.
" When this option is switched on, it makes the analog sticks more responsive to small movements. Turned off, the controls behave exactly as they did before the patch. It’s not a radical overhaul of the control system, so the layout and the ‘weight’ of the controls remain the same.
Still, a lot of us here at Guerrilla really enjoy the new High Precision option, so we’ve decided to switch it on by default for new players. Existing Killzone 2 players will have the option turned off by default after patching – we wouldn’t want to force a sudden change to the controls on you!"
I think the fact that Guerilla are planning this kind of tweak suggests that I'm not alone.
KZ2 is a GREAT GAME! Don't get me wrong. But a much more popular shooter like MW2 is prob going to dominate if the control scheme is one way and it's competitor's is another way.
I'd still love to map crouch to the X button.
I hope that High Precision is like COD4 controls. I've yet to play an FPS that feels better on a console than COD4.
@brainderailment, I couldn't agree more...oh wait.
Wait a second.
You say things like: "It's a great game, the MP is a lot of fun, and the community is really strong.", "...those matches have been some of the most fun I have ever had on a console." and "I love me some Killzone 2". And yet you're thinking about going to say goodbye? You've got to play them as two different games. It's like playing Tony Hawk and Skate, that doesn't work very good either until you realize they're not one and the same game.
The control scheme is pretty much the same as COD if you choose Alternate 2 and turn on 'zoom hold'. I've played a shitload of COD4 and Killzone 2 and yet I haven't got a problem. I've had more problems with COD4 and Resistance 2. Now THAT was a weird control scheme.
Also, the name is spelled Guerrilla with 2X R and 2X L.
I don't get it...you can't vary between control schemes? What's so hard about? Even if Killzone's control scheme is unique that should mean you can negotiate the differences. Just keep playing both until you get the hang of changing between the two. I've been going between Halo 3 and COD4 on my Xbox and Killzone 2 on my mate's PS3 with no problems.
The new patch for Killzone2 might help you out. I haven't played it yet, but I've enjoyed what time I spent with Killzone on the PS2 and Liberation on the PSP, so I can sort of understand what you mean about jumping between control schemes... but really, its a part of any genre. No game controls the same as the others, and when they do, things tend to get kinda boring.
