Oh Comeon! Seriously?

Tonight I popped in GTA IV to play a little bit online, I load the game up, and it makes a sharp sound, and the 360 freezes. I shrug it off, since that occasionally happens. So I turn off the console and start it back up. While waiting for the game to load, I chuckled to myself, thinking how weird it would be if it RROD'd and what I would do for 3 weeks.

It loads and does the same thing it did before. I laughed nervously and reset again, thinking something was wrong with the game. I go into my files and DELETE one of my saves, hoping it would fix the problem, thinking it was a bad save. I start up the game and it freezes.

I reset. And almost cry.

NO! I shouldn't have thought about it! But I did and it happened!

So now I went to the Xbox website and found out that 3 rings=3 year warranty, which means it's free. That brought (barely any) comfort to me.

So now I sit here, wondering what I'm going to be doing for the next month, what a waste of Xbox live subscription, do I get that back? I think...

So now it looks like while I'm waiting for my R4 cart to arrive, I'll also be waiting for a...shipment box XP[/img]

Gaming PC Rigs. Hard to Create, or Easier Than it Looks?
austin11118 | 9:40 PM on 12.21.2008 28 comments

Gaming PC's these days, constantly advancing, new technology being built for them every day. It almost seems hard to keep up with, doesn't it? For most gamers these days, the idea of having a gaming PC that needs to be constantly upgraded to keep up with the times seems like too much of a hassle, so must gamers stray away from the aspect.

So, my question for the day is, Is it really that hard to create a gaming PC?

I have a laptop, which runs a few nice games, but I yearn for a high-end desktop PC that could display my games with the highest graphics, without spending thousands of dollars to acheive it, and then when you add on the expenses of upgrading your rig every year to keep up, it seems to get expensive. It almost seems like that may be some of the reason that PC gaming seems to be dying just a little.

Scribblenauts = Pure Genius.
austin11118 | 9:47 AM on 12.20.2008 7 comments

Recently, IGN posted an interview on their website with the developers of 5th Cell, creators of games like Drawn to Life and Lock's Quest. The developers revealed their newest DS game in the works, the name of the game? Scribblenauts.

Scribblenauts is a new DS game that is going to revolutionize the DS gaming appeal. The concept of the game is simple, retrieve the starlite, an object in the game which is basically shaped like a star, collecting them unlocks more levels.

Here's the really interesting/innovative part. By writing down an object/command in the bottom of the DS screen, it appears in the game, and can be used to retrieve the starlite. For example, in the gameplay video, there's a starlite in the tree. You can spawn any object imagineable, from a ladder to climb up the tree, to spawning a beaver to eat the tree and knock it over.

Now, I don't about you guys, but a game like this is something I've dreamed about since I was first introduced to gaming. This redefines so much of how much you can expand your imagination and creativity in a game. Now hopefully, this game is as good as it seems, and not just something that sounds incredible on paper. We'll just have to see!

Borderlands? BorderWhat?

Borderlands. What's That?

According to Wikipedia:

"Borderlands is an upcoming science fiction first-person shooter with RPG elements that is currently in development by Gearbox Software for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game was revealed in the September 2007 issue of Game Informer magazine. The game is the first in a planned franchise. The game has a planned 2009 release date."

I am really looking forward to this game. But here's the problem: the game was announced in September of 2007, as said in the article. Since then, has anyone even heard of any screenshots/information/or gameplay videos released? I didn't think so.

I mean, I know some companies keep there games under wraps, but man, this is almost ridiculous! Even most games get information trickled out little by little.

With over 600,000 weapons in the game, and plenty of vehicles to drive around the enormous wasteland, I can't wait for this game to come out! But, when am I going to see some good dirt on it?
