So Energy Drinks... SHORT POST
angusm | 11:38 PM on 12.11.2007 13 comments

Ok, flame me for the short post if you must, and tell me to save it for the forums, but y'know I prefer the blog/comment format, also I'd elaborate but I can't spend too long away from studying. So anyways, I just received a lecture from one of my friends about the evil of energy drinks and a reminder of a time I had so much caffeine that I was literally terrified with no real reason, which y'know just made the whole experience scarier. Y'know also I couldn't hold a train of thought worth shit and y'know started shakin and all that. Just wonderin anybody have this happen to them, or have any bad caffeine related stories to tell?

I once thought energy drinks was a great idea. I drank a shitload of the stuff one day for fun and ended up crashing so fucking hard I haven't touched the stuff since.

I don't touch the stuff...
I only use them in mixed drinks and taking with shots on very rare occasions. Thats more of a social creation though... I absolutely stay away from any kind of energy drink during the week of any given school semester. I also believe in what Fatality preaches (the gamer if you didn't know) that an artificial alertness from an energy drink is actually worse for gamers, especially those who are serious about professional gaming, it gets you in a bad rut of a schedule thats hard to eventually break.

I don't usually drink them, too expensive compared to alternatives.

POWERTHIRST, however, may be an exception.

I use to drink the stuff almost every day and stopped mainly since they started to cost a lot. After I read an article about energy drinks causing heart problems and high blood pressure I stopped....until I made my web page. For some damn reason I feel I have to drink them and review them. Why am I such a tool?

If you're going to drink them, and don't want to crash hard, try Guru or Bawls. I mainly drink them when I'm up writing my thesis and should just go to sleep. Also a good alternative to coffee. Sometimes I get sick of the hot caffeine fix and opt for a cold jolt of the jitters. Speaking of Jolt, where the hell is it? I haven't seen that stuff in a couple of years.

bawls, good stuff, red bull, good stuff, full throttle...my favorite - just don't use them if you are diabetic, borderline potential heart attack or anything like that...btw you have to get used to the caffeine so don't drink too much at once.

Jones energy is the best imo. It took me 5 hours to drink one and I still crashed. Got a really bad gut ache. Now when I drink it im fine.

Small doses is where it is at. I've definitely gotten to the point where I am shaking and can't focus on a god damned thing.

I once drank 4 litres of seriously strong energy drink and was shaking for hours. I learned a lot from that, now I don't drink seriously caffienated stuff but i do take my energy drinks when I need them.

Every few months I'll drink one. I drink as needed. Occasionally I'm just having a really slow day and need a quick pick me up and don't mind crashing a few hours later.

I've never hit the point of shaking though.
