Wow this took forever

I know most of you hate me because I posted a few links to my website about a year ago and I still apologize to this date. I also know some of you hated how I posted some of my reviews in my blog and I guess I should say sorry again. With that said let's get on with the show.

Since my college degree means nothing in todays economy I was lucky enough to at least find a job after a few months, I now work at Gamestop. Yes the enemy, I am one of those people who will annoy you to death just so you put $5 down on a future release.

My few days on the job so far have been good. I did help out some people with some purchases and I actually had 3 people in one day return the special edition of Madden 2009 because of glitches. Maybe next time those people should buy real games :)

One of the new things about working at Gamestop if the discount and having the ability to rent games. What was my first choice? The Club. Boy am I glad I rented this, that game is a piece of shit! At least today I will use my employee discount on Too Human, for some reason I think I am one of the only people in the world that enjoyed playing the demo.

With that said I will leave you with a few words of wisdom...

"The more you trade the more you save"

Is Gottgame.com a joke?
amalgamut00 | 11:47 PM on 03.11.2008 18 comments

Has anybody been to this before? I found it the other day and it makes me laugh so hard. Every game this person on the radio talks about is good. Does he even know anything about video games? The worst thing I heard was "try it before you buy it." Oh my that is a good mini review.

This idiot has to mention their sponsorship all the time too. Are you tired and need more energy? Eat a Snickers Charged and play Dynasty Warriors 6, where you can ride a horse.

Oh and then this site takes the cake, they have the Irate Gamer. Instead of the rip off Irate Gamer we know he has a show on there called the Irate Gamer NEO. Isn't that cute he reviews Wii games.

Yeah so this might have been best for a message board, but I am too lazy to open an account yet. Maybe later this week I'll start posting at the boards, getting sick of the message board I'm at right now (doubt anybody cares).

Toshiba HAS NOT dropped HD yet
amalgamut00 | 9:45 AM on 02.18.2008 11 comments

I know it is safe to say Toshiba is going to stop production on HD, but this isn't the point. I really hate how everyone is already saying Toshiba already announced it, the wars are over.

This is bad journalism and I find it funny when you go to the so called sources they say where Toshiba announced this you will end up in a big loop after a few links. What is the point of lying like this? I own a PS3 with 21 Blu-ray movies, of course I would like to see Blu-ray around. If I had an HD player, which I almost did a few times, I would still like to see it around too.

There could have been room for both, but Toshiba did not push HD nearly as much as Sony did with Blu-ray. Now to all the Sony and Blu-ray fans please feel free to say whatever you want just to look like a big shot. Until Toshiba finally announces the death of HD just shut the fuck up.

Damn you Lost Odyssey case!!!
amalgamut00 | 3:10 PM on 02.14.2008 9 comments

I just bought this game, along with Professor Layton and the Curious Village, and when I opened it up I was pissed! The paper case for the 4th disc was all damaged and I saw a few minor marks on it. I walked right back to Game Stop and got another copy, which ended up being the last one.

Thankfully this one looks better. I am thinking about changing this game out with one of those 4 disc holder cases I got from some random DVD. This game better make up for my anger, if not I am going to shun any RPG over 3 discs on the 360.

Resident Evil: Extinction [Blu-ray] Review
amalgamut00 | 2:20 PM on 02.10.2008 9 comments

Here is the last review on the Resident Evil movies. I hope you all enjoyed these reviews. Who knows maybe if you own these movies you'll want to watch them again. Worst case you may decide to pick any of these up whenever they're cheap as hell.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Resident Evil: Extinction [Blu-ray]

Released: September 21, 2007 / January 1, 2008
Director: Russell Mulcahy

Reviewer: Eric

When I first saw trailers for Resident Evil: Extinction I was worried. The last Resident Evil movie was the worst zombie movie since Flight of the Living Dead. September came around and I was worried so I avoided the movie. When 2008 hit I went out on a limb and bought the Blu-ray version. It turns out Extinction isn’t all that bad.

Resident Evil: Extinction [Blu-ray]Extinction reminded me of the good old days with the Resident Evil series. True it didn’t deal with the games too much, but I had a lot of fun watching this movie. The zombies were biting people with force and the ammo was running wild into the zombie’s heads. Finally the Resident Evil movie series has impressed me.

What makes the third movie in the franchise so great is the fact how it pretends Apocalypse never happened. Any sort of traces from that movie have been erased from the characters brains. Thank you to whoever’s decision this was.

Years after the disaster in Raccoon City, Alice is on her own. Aware that things have changed she tries to find other survivors and her ultimate goal, to take down the Umbrella Corporation, led by Albert Wesker. Traveling survivors, lead by Claire Redfield, soon cross paths with Alice, but in a way that could jeopardize every body’s existence.

Out of all the three movies in the Resident Evil franchise I’d have to say Extinction is my favorite. This is the only Resident Evil movie that brings all the action in broad daylight, something that isn’t seen too often in any zombie film. All of the action you would see in other big budget movies is in Extinction. To make things even more impressive all of these sequences are done in open spaces.

Even though I enjoyed this film a lot I was extremely disappointed with the final battle. The final battle is anti-climatic. With the blink of an eye the final battle is over, Apocalypse actually had a longer end battle. This last battle doesn’t ruin the entire movie, though it does make it seem like the movie had no real meaning, if you think about it.

Resident Evil: Extinction [Blu-ray]You can tell Sony didn’t mess around when it came to the Blu-ray release to Resident Evil: Extinction. I can’t really compare this to the theater release or the DVD version, but everything on the Blu-ray version looks amazing. The images are crystal clear and the audio will make your ears bleed (in a good way).

Resident Evil: Extinction is one of the first Blu-ray movies that offer the picture in picture feature. Audio tracks and secondary video are in 1.1, allowing both sources to play in the main feature. This feature does work on the Playstation 3 console so there is no need to panic.

This Resident Evil film only offers one commentary track. Director Russell Mulcahy, producer/writer Paul Anderson and producer Jeremy Bolt and the gentlemen and talk for this audio track. Most of the time this commentary track is more on the technical side; something movie buffs and inspiring directors would love.

Eleven deleted scenes and a four part documentary on Resident Evil: Extinction is included as well. The documentary is rather interesting and should not be missed by any zombie movie fan. Resident Evil buffs should also note that a trailer for the upcoming CGI Resident Evil movie, Resident Evil 5 and Devil May Cry 3 are also included on this disc.

Final Verdict
I learned to not judge movies on trailers ever again. Resident Evil: Extinction revives the Resident Evil movie franchise to a whole new level. Out of all the movies so far this is by far the best one in the series; it’s fresh and unique to most other zombie movies out there today. The Blu-ray version comes pack with a lot of extras with a crystal clear image throughout the entire movie. This movie is defiantly a must own for horror and zombie movie fans, even collectors of Blu-ray movies.

Rating
8.75 out of 10

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next time you'll see a Resident Evil review from me will be whenever that new CGI one comes out. Until then have fun and don't run out of ammo with the Wii Zapper.

Happy days are here for me!!!
amalgamut00 | 1:37 AM on 02.08.2008 5 comments

Yeah I know if you post anything that doesn't deal with games most people will get pissed off, but right now I don't care. I just found out today that I am going to get a quote on The Living Corpse graphic novel, whenever it comes out this year.

It turns out the people that write the comic book and the comic liked my review so much they are going to use a certain passage to put into the paper back. They are also going to put something either in issue two or three. Either way I am pretty happy right now.
