Well, now i have no moneys, but i do at least have some shiny games to show for it. And some more on the way, in a week. Oh and i have pretty pictures! Yay!



First of all, i must reiterate the value of this box. Many people have done so already of course, but let me say it again - its a shitload of value. 5 great games for merely $45, or $60 nz. Thats about half what we pay for xbox 360 games! So fuck yeah!

Ok, on to the games. Not including Hl2 ep 2 and portals, since obviously neither are out.

Half life 2 - enough has been said. Its awesome. I already had it though, kind of annoying, but now i can give it away! oh joy.

Half life 2 episode 1 - more hl 2, what can go wrong? Well, i dont know, having not bought it before, so only one redundant game for me! Yus!



Team Fortress 2 - Ok, now we all get upset at cheap tactics. You know, grenade spam, snipers, medics making people not die, people who run faster, people who spam turrets... and thus ive mentioned nearly all the classes in TF 2! This game is, essentially, all the cheap tactics put in their own classes, and then unleashed upon each other. As such, its can be both incredibly fun, and extremely annoying, at the same time.
The classes are all fun. Its quite an achievement, since theres 9 of them, and theyre all very different. Theyre all balanced too, for the most part. Its interesting theyve managed to balance such fundamentally cheap and nasty classes. The only issue is sort of with the medic + heavy combo, which can be a bitch to get rid of. Oh and turrets in certain places can be difficult too. The other interesting thing about the classes is their personality, as im sure most of you have seen from the videos. Each class is a uniquely crazy mofo, ready to go out and wreak havoc. Its awesome to watch a heavy with medic backup just unleashing his minigun into his foes, with a look of sheer glee on his face.
Few of the games ive played have been set up too well, however. Nearly all of them continue to the timer running down to 0, either because neither team can push the others back, or the score limit is insane. Then, we get sudden death, where everyone is spawned back at their base, and there are no more respawns! Its fun for a close, good game, every now and then, but nearly every game ive played has lead to this, it gets annoying. I hope its just the servers ive played on.
In any case, the maps are good, the graphics are great in their own special way, not to mention amusing. The gameplay (moving, aiming, etc) is simple but well executed, as youd expect from valve.
Overall, this game is fantastic, fast paced, violent multiplayer. It has annoyances, but it makes up for that for sheer enjoyment, once you get into it.

Peggle extreme - PEGGLE. EXTREME. FUCKING. RULES. GET IT. At least the demo. It really does fucking rule, on the best mini games ive ever been addicted to (it only took about 2 or 3 min, as well). Edit - oh shit i just had to add this - you can make music with the buttons on the menu screen! This is the best minigame ever!
