Wow, feels like it's been a long time since I blogged, and it's only been two weeks and two days. Playing games, replying to people on here and finishing off college has been a big time eater, but well worth it.
So onto the topic, which I'm surprised not one of the editors has wrote about yet (you can use it if you want editors), which is Sony patenting a motion control system that sees ordinary objects as controllers. It sounds kind of good in one way, as it has infinite possibilities. A bad way is that someone could just use a dildo (or perhaps their nether regions), but I guess all the better for sex games ey.
When I get through my backlog of games I will hopefully try to write more as not writing in 2 weeks feels like I'm not contributing at all. I would write more but I'm off to play games as usual and chill, as I'm shattered for no apparent reason, other than being a tad lazy today. Here's the link to where I found the Sony story;
I just gave you a big up in the comments, now you make me sad.
Please tell me you're not a Sony fanboy, you get that Natal does it too yeah? I'm sure it's been brought up. Not an attack, just asking.
eh... I'm getting a bit tired of all the motion control/camera stuff... I would just like Sony to use what they've got (the PSEye) instead of inventing new stuff that will never be used in games.
The Eyetoy was a revolutionary idea... it worked well (I loved Groove - great exercise) but nothing much has come from it. They keep inventing new stuff, but not making games. The current PSEye is nothing more than a fancy expensive webcam. :(
Good find though! (it just makes me disappointed with Sony)
What Kris? FFS PEOPLE I CAN ONLY AFFORD ONE CONSOLE. THAT DOES NOT MAKE ME A FANBOY.
Fuck me. Sorry it's just getting on my tits. If people don't want news, I won't bother. Thank you for supporting me in the comments, however I do not appreciate being a fanboy, EVER.
I know it's not an attack, but don't mention the word fanboy as I'm anything but. Read my comments in Hoborgs blog and you will see that I want to own all the consoles. I don't appreciate coming back and telling people new things, and get called that.
@Elsa, I see what you are saying. I'm a bit dodgy about motion controls. But I do love playing on the Wii.
Honestly I was just asking. I'm not exactly flush either, I'm playing a PS2 and my old PC games cus my 360 is fooked. I don't have a PS3, I can't afford it.
I just thought they mentioned it already, I apologize.
Besides you like Crash Bash and CTR, my missus would never forgive me :P
@Kris
My wife and I played Crash Bash and CTR for days on end. CTR I loved, but Crash Bash, haha, let's just say I put up with it. The secret games at the end are good though.
Hey Zippy, when are you going to buy a 360 so we can play L4D?
...hee hee...
...ahem, you want to talk backlogs? My PS2 backlog alone could choke a donkey lol. Also, I couldn't resist getting the Blazblue limited edition before it was gone, so I got that today on PS3, and am playing through the new Call of Juarez on 360 from Gamefly (some quick impressions for those curious: I'm on the 2nd act and so far it's pretty cool, nothing utterly amazing yet, but solid mechanics and it is fun. Feels similar to CoD, but more sluggish. A little more cinematic than the first; sharp, nicely detailed graphics but there is some screen tearing at times. Dialogue isn't too bad and the voice acting is pretty good. Load times are are a little slow.The duels are the only real shittiness so far, seems to be a good game. Have yet to try multiplayer, but the objective-based modes sound cool.).
Zippy-- it's cool, I still only have the last gen systems: Gamecube, XBox, PS2. I'm gameflying my way through the classics until I get enough for a PS3 (yes, that's my first console I want, for GoW 3 and Ratchet and Clank).
God I know what you mean, Crash Bash is not my friend! Not only do I hate the game but she whips my ass - except the tanks+the pogo one sometimes - too :(
Thank you Kris I accept your apology, and fair enough that you hadn't seen I'd mentioned it already. Sorry I didn't get back to ASAP, been playing Cell Factor that I won from Dtoid :) Free stuff FTMFW
Well I still have Crash 1 on my PS1 and I bought CTR and Crash 1 on the PS3 :) Well worth it. As I said in my profile Crash Bash is one of my favourites.
@Blasto, trust me, if I could afford one, L4D would be the first game I'd buy. I really liked it on PC, but I got bored of it, however not playing it for so long makes me want to play it again, especially with the Dtoid crew :]
Also, my backlog is OVER 9000!!! :] jk, it's more like 200-300, beat that :P
@Qraze, cheers :) That banner actually took a lot of time to place each character as a lot are cut off at the torso or waist, and each character is one layer. I basically made a list of all the characters of all the games I enjoyed (that I could fit, there's plenty more), and got renders off of Planet Renders.net. I thought as MGS4 was one of my favourite games and that man is truly a legend, he had to be on there. I just thought though, I hope I don't ruin it it for anyone else, hopefully they won't realise who he is :]
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I have been told I'm an odd fellow, which is nice :) Loving Dtoid, been here for half a year now and I'm so glad I found a real community :D I feel more welcomed here than I have anywhere else.
I love all games new and old hence why I still have and play on my Spectrum, SNES, N64, PS1,2, Gameboy and more. I also have the rest of the N64/SNES games that I don't have in Physical form in Emulation form. I play PC a lot too. Check out Mame32 for a lot of classic very old arcade games.
On PS3 I mainly play Killzone 2, Street Fighter 4, GTA4, COD4, MGS4, Mirrors Edge, Prince of Persia, Little Big Planet, Skate (don't play it much since I finished it much), Ratchet and Clank (same with this, finished it 3 times) and a load more. Plus a lot of mini games, I play those a lot too.
I'm currently studying a BTEC in Game, Art and Media Design, which is fun and has its perks. But at the moment I'm wanting to go travelling more than anything. I probably look at destructoid.com as much as it is updated, so at least once every 10-20 minutes.
What I am playing at the moment: Trying to split my time between Left 4 Dead, Audio Surf, Team Fortress 2 and Garry's Mod.
PSN: Gladiator_21
What I am reading at the moment: Nothing unfortunately.
What I am watching at the moment: A lot of films.
What I am listening to at the moment: The San Andreas Soundtrack
My favourite games/series of all time: Too many games to list, I have that list saved though.
