Oh Activision, you really have become a shitty company. I used to like you, really I did, but now you've become everything I used to hate about EA.
wtf? Where do they get off charging $60 for pc games?
I can't tell whether you're being sarcastic or serious chrono.
Zippy, Chrono probably lives in the US (right?) where games are generally cheaper than in the UK and Australia. A quick look at EB Australia's website has the PC version down for costing $100 in Australia (a common price) which is 56 quid.
Damn, i am not that surprised though I thought it would be priced aroudn that margin anyway.
I know i could be speaking too late but how is it that common this is the price tag now on everything? i sued to get surprised by looking at it but now its everywhere.
But will it be worth it?
Unbelievable. Console bullshit has finally affected the PC market.
You know you'll buy it though.
You know... it wasn't today.... That price has been there for more then 2 months :<
I'm going to hate myself when I buy this game....
I won't buy it.
Wait a minute. If you get MW2, will it be on PC or PS3?? Last time I checked, all the cool kids were getting it for the PS3 :P
Also, add me on Steam, you punk, I'm Styt/Botucatu!
added!
Not to sound like an old coot here, but whatever happened to $20 PC games?
@ mk
inflation.
I'm being dead serious, PC games have been $50 forever, even the pc ports of console games are $50. But now all of a sudden Activision is so fucking greedy they think they can change the price scheme to match console prices? Fuck them, if pc games adopt this new price scheme which they more than likely will because Activision will probably sell of a shit ton of copies no matter the price point I will boycott companies that do this.
It honestly seems like a move with almost no logic behind it.
It's not a move that will encourage purchasing the game "on day 1" as well as moving the PC release a week away from the console version. What on Earth is the logic to this?
Are they trying to maximize PC profits? Well then why not put it on the same day as the consoles?
Are they trying to increase their install base? Well why would they RAISE the price?
Cosmically it seems really petty to get agitated over a matter of a week and 10 dollars but I applaud PC gamers for being outraged as Activision could set a precedent and not a favorable one.
$10 isn't a big deal, its the principle of the matter. The established pc price point has been $50 for new games for a long time, and of course it takes a greedy company like Activision to feel they need to up the price just so they can make that little bit of extra profit. I mean why now? Why wasn't MW1 $60 for pc? They run on the same engine, your telling me it cost that much more to make MW2 that they need to price hike the pc version?
Activision really is the new EA. Shitty tech support (I know from experience, not even a reply) and as much money milking as possible.
